Quotes - Check Quantity on Hand for Inventory Items
When sending a quotation it would be really helpful if the system did not allow the quote to exceed the number of items held in inventory in the same way as invoicing does. There is little point in quoting for items that we do not hold in stock and we do not operate negative balances for inventory.

Hi everyone, we appreciate interest here, however want to be open that we don't have any plans for restricting the ability to quote stock when there isn't enough on hand to fulfil an order.
That said, you'll find that for tracked inventory you can now view the stock on hand when that item is selected within a quote.
Once you add a tracked item to a quote and click into the Qty field you'll see the amount of stock on hand shown at the bottom of the cell.

XERO should have sales order that enable inventory to record pre-orders or reserve hay purchases. At the very least Quotations approved (internal) should update 'Quantity on order'
