It would also be a lot more practical to assign the expenses to projects in just the same way as it's done in invoices, instead of assigning them via the project tab. I notoced that not all expenses are taken into account and I had to go back to each bill to redo the project assignment to make sure that everything is accounted for, and even then, i find that there are still gaps.
The invoice project assignment method has the merit of showing what was assigned or not.
Having said this, it would also be very useful to have a report with details of bills and invoices that shows what expenses were assigned to what project in each, allowing for a faster verification.

I have a client who is looking for this feature also. Having to convert the currency for expenses paid on behalf of a client is time consuming.

It would make our work massively quicker and easier if we could create invoices in the customers currency and record bills in the currency of the bill.

I think it extraordinary that in the year 2024 anyone would provide software on the basis that no businesses deal in foreign currency.

This is really helpful because our client is running multi currency on their project. The current project is not sync to the correct currency which is hard to keep track of the project payment.

For me, Xero's foreign currency capability and the projects feature were both key attractions of the product. The fact that the two features do not work together is a major flaw that compromises Xero's usefulness.

This is a major gap in an otherwise highly useful projects feature.
And it's likely a low hanging fruit dev-wise.

This is a feature that would save so much time and ensure the information displayed is accurate alot of manipulation is currently required

multi-currency needs to be review, something like projects shoud have this option enable

Projects module is not usable without this functionality when working in a multi-currency environment.

This is isn't really an "idea" which would be a usability or time saving improvement, it is basic functionality which is simply missing. Without this, the multi-currency support is incomplete for any company that also uses projects.

100% essential. We are UK based and work with clients in other countries and often quote and invoice in USD and Euro.

We need to be able to set a project currency that flows through everything from setting up the initial project tasks and quotes and then invoices but also allows expected expenses to be set up in unique currencies as we work with sub-contractor suppliers worldwide and need the project profitability calcs to juggle everything correctly.

This would be a great idea as now if the project is in USD and invoice in USD:
1. We have to remember when creating the invoice need to change the currency to USD.
2. The dashboard view in Project is not sync as the "Project Estimate display in USD, but the "Invoiced" field display in AUD and display an incorrect % because it is using converted AUD amount.
