In 2025 Xero removed the Payroll function citing some spurious reason and increased the monthly fee. This doesn't seem fair. the Payroll function suited my purposes. Now I need to run the payroll on a spreadsheet and print the payslips to pdf and mail them to the employees (5)

Please can we have this in the UK too.

@Lyall Zweck the Payroll Activity Report doesn't tell me how the payslip is appearing to the employee, and doesn't have leave accrual or YTD figures. Also, it takes far more typing to change the searched dates for each pay period than to click on the list of payslips.

(btw one can't access payslips from the employee record without using a mouse - tabbing through skips straight from the table headings to the history dropdown! WCAG success criterion 2.1.1 fail!)

This has always annoyed me that I have to download and then open a pdf if I want to view a payslip. If I'm checking something for a particular employee I don't want to have to open multiple payruns and then open that particular employees record. Would be very helpful to be able to just open if within the screen instead of then having a pdf to delete from your downloads.

I've always found it odd that we can't view payslips easily in Xero without having to download them first. Payroll activity detail report would work if that aligned to the pay calendar, and also showed YTD figures - neither of which it does currently.

Does the Report - Payroll Activity Details provide you with what you are after?
You can select to report on just one employee, and whatever date range you need.
You can then export the report to PDF or Excel if you need.

@Kelly Munro, I'd like to be able to see a single employee's payslips, and review multiple pay periods worth. Using the method you've suggested requires:
- opening one pay period
- checking that the employee is included in that payrun
- open the payslips report for that payrun
- scroll to the particular employee (depending on the client, this can mean scrolling through up to 100+ employees)
- go back to the list of payruns
- repeat all previous steps for each pay period and payslip I want to review

Frankly, downloading the individual's payslips is faster than this method if you have more than one payslip to look at.

Downloading the payslip means remembering to delete the download once I'm done to prevent potential privacy issues; having to scroll through all employees to find one employee's payslip is also a potential privacy issue, particularly if that one employee is standing next to me watching me do it.

It would be great if there is a way to quickly view all the pay runs for a specific employee, without the need to go through 'Pay employees' under the 'Payroll' section and opening every pay run individually.

When looking at the Pay Run / Pay Run History page, please add number of employees in each pay run to the overview. We report on this each pay period and would make more sense to be shown here then having to click into the pay run or
