AU Payroll - Annual leave for casual employee
Xero has removed the ability for casual employees to apply for annual leave if that leave is available to them. Annual leave is part of my casual employees employment contracts. The employees and I have agreed that they will receive annual leave and sick leave.
These leave types were catered for in the past and the employees were able to apply for them when required. Now, despite still accruing those leave types, they are unable to apply for them.
This change by Xero restricts my business's ability to determine what conditions I offer to my employees. While the terms of employment I offer are all above the minimum standards of the NES (national employment standards), Xero can't deal with that for some reason despite being able to deal with it in the past.

Xero's approach to features is to prioritise features that are used by the majority of users. This approach means that they are aiming for a product that caters to the lowest common denominator (whether Xero is aware of this or not).
By restricting my choice (a minority of users), and ignoring my request, Xero also restrict the choice of many others who don't go to the trouble to make comments such as these.
Xero will likely restrict your choice in the future too. While most of the things you do right now are also done by the majority of other users, you will also do some things in ways that only a minority of users do.
The "satisfy the majority" approach is doomed to fail, and doomed in the mean time to make your workflow more difficult.
