Invoicing - Duplicate draft invoice warning
Draft sales invoice. I would be helpful that when entering a sales invoice for a customer if Xero could advise/warn you that there is already a "Draft" invoice in the system.
I add to draft invoices each week, and sometimes a draft that is already in existence gets missed.

It would be very helpful if you were warned if a duplicate reference number is being used when invoicing customers. Our customers supply us with reference numbers and I have found a few occasions where i have invoiced them twice without realising. If Xero warned you, at least you could double check before sending. This is a feature of MYOB that is very useful.

When invoicing have a warning notification if a reference number has already been used for each new invoice in case of accidental duplication

while importing the invoice template xero doesnt accept the same invoice numbers and we have some clients who share same invoice numbers for bunch of candidates Xero dont import that duplicate numbers , and we have to enter those numbers manually after posting the invoices , which is time consuming . Could you please help any possible way so that we can insert these duplicate invoice numbers in Xero while posting the template

under the old version it was up the top in read if a duplicate invoice was raised, but under the new invoice version the message appears on the bottom left hand corner and is easily missed.

Prevent same reference being used on two invoices invoices. This feature is currently in place on bills.

Totally agree, the user needs to be notified if there is a draft invoice for a contact before adding an additional draft invoice
