We use Xero Projects and assign each project to a project manager. Our managers need to invoice tasks directly within their assigned projects as this then shows which tasks have been invoiced within the project. Currently this is only possible if they have:
• Standard Project access, and
• Sales (Invoice) permission

The problem is that these permissions give the users too much access to company wide financial data, including ALL projects, invoices, and bills (not just the ones assigned to them).

If we reduce their permission level to “Invoice Only (Drafts),” the assigned users cannot create invoices within the project view. They must go through the Sales tab instead, which:
• Prevents tasks from being marked as invoiced, and
• Does not link the invoice back to specific project tasks.
• Affects the project information captured in the reports.

Suggested improvement:
Change the permission specs in the “Invoice Only (Drafts)” permissions OR create a new permission user which allows ASSIGNED USERS in Xero Projects to:
• Create and edit invoices in Xero Projects for their own assigned projects.
• Allow the assigned users to send the invoices for management approval and restrict their ability to approve their own invoices (and bills).
• Pull profitability information for assigned projects only (without them needing full sales access to the rest of the company’s info).

This would allow invoicing and project management by assigned users within Xero projects, while maintain data security.

We need to be able to allow certain users to view invoices and statements based on their specific project's tracking categories. How do we do this?

URGENT - Please have a setting to allow XERO subscriber to not allow project user to see the total invoices and billings of the organization. We need XERO improve on this system to create one more layer that allow user STANDARD to

- create quotation, raise invoice and cannot see total organization billing BUT only what they raise and projects that they are involved in.

They will make your system even more powerful! Please review this seriously. Last thing we want is to change to another platform because of this flaw.

This is the problem that we have just stumbled up against. My colleague has Xero Project access but cannot view bills that are associated with the projects.

I would like read only access to the bills associated with the project rather than having to give full access to Xero.

Add an additional user profile. Call it Project access.

This profile needs to have the standard user permissions but ONLY TO ASSIGNED PROJECTS.

There is not enough information in limited access yet there is open book access for standard. there needs to be something in between.

This would then give Xero the ability to have a "client portal" where in construction, interior design or trades for example they can give their customer access to the project to see the costs and time associated with their project.
