  1. When Posting a customer invoice it would be very useful to be able to see customer address and ROI vat number so I can apply the correct vat code. ATM I have to go to contact details for that information then back into invoice posting

Hi Gillian, understand it doesn't accomplish all of your idea here. However you can view a contacts address from the invoice. If you click on the 'To' field once you've added the contact you'll be able to view their email, postal and delivery addresses and telephone.

  2. When sending customer statements, we have a mix of clients who have email, and some who still get sent statements in the post.

It would be amazing if we could apply filters, like in excel, to the send statement screen, so i could say filter out all clients who have a balance greater than $0, but also who has an email address, so we can process statements, then reapply the filter to give all those without an email so we can then print all the statements needing printing.

At present we can sort by email or account balance but not…

  3. From "business" then "bills to pay" or "invoices" and click on "export" from a search result, the payment dates are missing in both the Invoices and Bills export files. Only the invoice dates and due dates are exported. Please add payment dates to the reports. Thanks.

  4. Custom Invoice Template did not work well for Thai characters. I've used Tahoma font as suggested on https://central.xero.com/s/article/Change-font-layout-and-column-headings-on-invoices-quotes?userregion=true#Useforeignlanguagecharactersininvoicesandotherdocuments but the characters above and below letters are not display properly.
Please find the attached for your reference.

I would like to ask for a font that can work well with Thai characters on invoice template.

  5. We have multiple people responsible for approving invoices depending on the project's PM - would it be possible to assign specific approvers for each invoice?

  6. Occassionally a debit order fails/ bounces after a considerable amount of time, after the receipt has already reflected on a customer statement. In this case, I should be able to reverse the receipt without removing it from the Accounts Receivable account.

For example, a debit order runs in March and bounces several weeks later in April, after the customer has received a statement.

E.g. end of March they receive a statement showing

    Opening Balance 0
    Invoice 100
    Receipt -100
    Closing Balance 0

When the receipt now bounces in April, their next (April) statement should begin with what the closing balance…

  7. I would like to have the ability to create a bill with a negative balance. This way, I can control the full credit to the exact sales tax account. The current way a Credit is applied to a batch bill it takes a percentage off each line item (total due and sales tax). I have to remit tax in multiple states, and the way credits are handled throws off my totals to remit. Right now, I edit existing bills and apply credits within the bill for a workaround. It's a painful process. Creating a bill with a negative balance would…

  8. When a client emails bills into Xero files, they often include a note saying APPROVED or POST TO DIRECT COSTS and even- PLEASE PAY TOMORROW. At the moment I have to open the email, take a copy, email it back into Xero files and then attach that to the bill along with the original bill. Can a copy of the email be automatically attached to the bill when it is processed from files? It would save a lot of time.

  11. On a multi currency company it would be better for the total amount showing due matches the balance of all bills as per the date they were raised.
It causes confusion for clients when they pay a supplier, they usually just check total owed against the contact, if it's fluctuating to reflect exchange rates this means they may under or over pay the actual original bills.

  12. Xero Projects - Group estimated expenses
It would be helpful to be able to set up categories to group together estimated expenses. For projects with lots of different expenses but of a similiar type it would be useful to be able to group these to more quickly see the various costs of a project. For example, to separate out administrative costs from material costs at a glance, so there would be a 'category' into which we could put tasks, estimated expenses and expenses to distinguish from other major costs while still tracking individual costs against the specific estimate.

  13. Ability to mark an invoice as "shipped". I want to use repeating invoices, but it's an administrative nightmare having to use an external method to track which orders have been shipped to the customer. It's not like you can even download just the invoice header information into a spreadsheet and use that. The export option downloads all of the lines, as well.

An invoice could have a field like "physical item to ship" or "requires processing after payment" that could be used to filter for "unprocessed" items.

A tracking number would be useful, too. Setting it to "shipped" would send…

  14. Title says it all, the current process requires a customer to full sign up with Xero (and be almost/forced to PAY) just to see an invoice history.

This should be accessible via a rotating link where the current "View all invoices" link is in the upper right -- or extremely simple login system that just takes an email and password.

Hi Adam, understand that there can be confusion for a customer if it is their first time making use of the link and not already having a Xero account.

The need for the user to create a Xero login to access and view their outstanding invoices with you if for yours and their security in the information that can be viewed.

Appreciate you may like a simpler sign up process for them and I have slightly adjusted the title of your idea here for this.   It's not something we have intentions of developing at this time, but we will get a sense of the wider interest from your idea here.

  15. It would be nice if expenses could learn and assign a specific account automatically to expenses from a regular supplier.

    The process could be:
    1) I take a photo of a receipt
    2) The analyse feature reads the receipt and fills in the date, supplier and amount

    THE NEW BIT:
    3) Expeses realises this is a supplier I've analysed a receipt from recently and codes it to the account I coded it to last time

  16. Projects - Would be terrific if we could produce a report based on employee projects, for example to be able to see what staff currently have on, the $$ they have quoted for a period of time etc.

  19. When exporting invoices if an invoice has multiple lines in Xero it also appears with multiple lines on the exported Excel.

Can we have some way to collate the invoice lines onto one line on the excel?

Currently when exporting a bulk amount of invoices we have to manually combine lines on the spreadsheet for the same invoice. This can take a lot of time and often lead to mistakes as manual calculation is needed to get the correct invoice amount.

Can you provide more detail of your reason for needing to export invoices from Xero, Balraj?

We don't have any plans for changing the format of the export right now, however it sounds like this is a common action for you, and it'd be good to better understand the use case that we can share with the team.

  20. Xero Project Module

we are currently using Xero Project module.
the duration of each project is around 3 years.

I need to have an interface that allows me to input the sales invoices issued, purchases & expenses related to this project in the last 2 Financial years.

I need to track the profitability of this particular project that will be a duration of over 3 years
