Aged Receivables report - Show Days overdue
It would be great if a column could be added to either the Aged Receivables Report or the Receivable Invoice Detail Report that shows the number of days the invoice is overdue by.
The number of days an invoice is overdue by can be seen on the 'Awaiting Payment' tab in the invoice section in Xero, but even on this part the information cannot be exported.

Account Transactions report - Ability to change default columns when drilling into report
Although you can save a custom Account Transactions report as the new default report, Xero still displays the original default Account Transactions columns if you drill down to account activity from Balance Sheet or Income Statement.
This currently requires re-adjusting the column settings every time.61 votesAppreciate the detail, and thanks for raising this here in the forums.

Bills - Adding Project line to Bills
I noticed with the new invoicing structure, that a field for Projects to be allocated in each line item. Can this be done for billing too? It becomes very time-consuming when having to add the projects at the end of a bill. Some of my bills are like 20-25 lines long, and then once I have entered the info, I have to go back to each line via the projects and allocate the project code. Invoices - Add functionality for external users to edit and submit invoices
Unfortunately, directly allowing your subcontractor to fill in an invoice within Xero itself isn't a built-in feature. Unlike QuickBooks Plus and Advanced plans, Xero currently doesn't offer a true collaboration functionality for directly editing invoices with external users like subcontractors. Quickbooks allows you to invite your subcontractor as a "vendor" with limited access to their specific invoice. Subcontractor cannot directly edit the invoice within QuickBooks. You can send them a pre-filled invoice for review and confirmation before finalizing it on your end.

Reporting - Correct Accounts payable/receivables when a Credit is applied and Contact name is changed
The Accounts payable/receivable Report is incorrect if the contact name has changed. As described to me by a Xero support technician:
If you edit a contact on an invoice, credit note, prepayment or overpayment that has a payment applied to it, it may affect the balance of the customers Activity Statement. This is because the transaction and corresponding payment are no longer associated to the same contact.
For example, if you create an invoice for Customer A then apply a credit note to that invoice, the Activity Statement for Customer A will show the net balance of the invoice amount…

Bank reconciliation report - Set default date period
New bank rec reports are based on the start of the month to the current date as a default. The old bank rec report just had an end date. Would like a fast way to move end date field and not have to also alter the start date.
13 votesHey community! As a few of you have rightly pointed out, the previously posted workaround isn’t suitable if your end date is prior to your start date. In this case, you will have to update both start and end fields.
Thank you to everyone that flagged that, and apologies for the confusion.
Because the the Bank Reconciliation summary lives in the Bank Reconciliation reporting pack, the date picker available is the same as the other bank reports (Bank Statement and Statement Exceptions).
Understand that some users would prefer an ‘as-at’ date instead, similar to the older report. In the meantime, you can select the same date in both fields to achieve this.
As that doesn't quite solve this for some users, we're leaving this idea open to continue to collect and share your feedback with our product team.

Bills & Invoices - Change Bills to Supplier Invoices and Invoices to Sales Invoices
I have been following a number of ideas, and it is apparent that some confusion often occurs when using the terminology 'Bills' and 'Invoices'.
Could we have the option within Xero for bills to be referred to as 'Supplier Invoices' or 'Purchase Invoices', and invoices referred to as 'Customer Invoices' or 'Sales Invoices' to avoid this confusion, as they are in every other accounts package I have used?

General Ledger Reporting - Group by Account Type
Under the GL Summary Report(new) and GL Detailed Report (new), i notice they run by account code in alphabetical order as a result of which some Balance Sheet and P/L items are mixed together.
How can i run both the above reports in a way whereby all the Balance Sheet items are on top in alphabetical order follow by all the P/L items thereafter in alphabetical order
Can anyone help

Suggestions to improve the reporting of GST Audit Beta
Allow us to select which Tax Codes to display in report (default All)
Show the tax code in each row rather than as a report subheader. Useful when there are lots of records for some tax codes

Reports - View bank reconciliation narration in account transaction report
Description Field with the bank narration
This happened as a couple of newer client and new to xero in the contact field wrote something incredibly different to the bank narration which makes it very difficult to review the general ledger information.
For example in the General Account the transactions descriptions are all listed as "John Smith" when if the bank narration option was available I could see it is Officeworks, KFC, etc and this would make it easier to realise these are miscoded and reallocate.

To add total amount on invoices to show as word form, instead of as numbers.
Purpose: For person who like to issue cheque, they can follow the wording amount on the sale invoice

Reporting - Show selected accounts at top of list in account dropdown
When selecting different accounts from the dropdown list in reports, the accounts that have been selected are not easy to locate without scrolling through the list (which sometimes can be a large number).
It would be helpful to have the accounts that already been ticked at the top of the list, so that they can easily be unticked if need be.

The new reports are significantly slower than the old reports. I was wondering if this has been experienced/ shared by other users? And if Xero were working on improving this?

Budgets - Import Tracking budgets
Please please can you sort your system so that when we are bulk importing our annual jobs that it is possible to import the budget also - I have asked for this for many years but to date nothing has changed. I hope that now that you have finally updated the system, after several years of empty promises, perhaps this is now a possiblity. It is far too time consuming to enter the budget manually with over 1000 jobs and would speed up our invoicing if the budget field was imported instead of having to look elsewhere for the fee.…

Bank Reconciliation - Match payment to more than 50 invoices
I would like to see the limitation of receiving payment on 50 inovices be increased or removed completely. I Have a trucking company that issues hundreds of trip invoices to it's customers and the limit of receiving payment on 50 invoices at a time doesnt work for them.

Reports - Automatically save CIS reports submitted to HMRC
Would it be possible to up date the CIS feature to have the reports that are filed through Xero to HMRC be automatically saved into the filed with HMRC section so that you can see the original return that was submitted if you have had to update it. Returns are not saved on HMRC if they are submitted through Xero.

Product sales - Linked purchase/sale with COGs reporting per Item
We are a design firm that sells non-inventory goods - we might purchase a faucet from a wholesale vendor, want to mark it up for profit and then re-sell to our clients. This cannot be a unique scenario for other Xero users. Everything we order is one-off because every design is different.
