Report preferences - Ability to set Comparison periods
Report preferences need more details, eg Comparison periods (to the Date or to the period), apply to custom reports, Apply to Users rather than to Organizations.

Great to hear you find the Report preferences handy, Andrew. So the team can get a pulse of what they should expand this feature to next, it's good to have a separate idea for each new element you'd like to see developed into this. I've slightly amended the title of your idea to reflect Comparison periods, but you're welcome to start new ideas for the other elements you'd like to set blanket application of. Thanks!

Hi kelly. Sorry for the long delay in reply. Advisor reports - financial statements. When im on the first page of the our financial report and i select to have no comparison year, when i go to the second page, it defaults back to showing the compare to 1 year. Would be good to be able to apply to all pages when selected form the first page

A recent comparison report run would only compare 30 March with 30 April, really needed 31 March to 30 April. This makes no sense to not be able to choose an entire month.

I use the P&L report (a custom one) a lot and regularly compare the current period I'm analysing to the same period the previous year. I have set this as the default in my custom report.
However, it's frustrating that as soon as you change the date you're analysing, Xero changes the comparison period back to the previous month or previous quarter etc. I want it to stick to my default of the equivalent period the previous year but I'm told this is not currently possible by Xero support so here I am!
The only way to resolve this is to have a custom report for each timeframe you're looking for which is little clunky.

On the first page where you can select to have comparative or only current year showing, option to tick and apply to all reports – would be handy for first year clients where they don’t have comparatives, instead of updating on every report
