  1. Subtotals for Balance Sheet Items
At the moment I can only get subtotals on the balance sheet by using the grouping function. Rather than doing this it would be great to subtotal certain parts of the Balance Sheet without creating multiple group headings. eg Fixed Asset accounts & the accumulated depreciation for each asset.

  2. We would like to indicate a specific percentage of retention money held by our client on our sales invoices to them. This retention is then payable to us after a specific amount of months.

We also need a way to keep track of the total amount of retention held by a client

Hi community, in lieu of having a direct feature for this I wanted to highlight the option shared earlier on in this thread (Thanks Peter!) for those it may help.

As mentioned, currently you could enter a separate line on the invoice, with a negative amount for the retention value, and code this to a 'customer retentions' account in the Balance Sheet. You could also add a comment in the Description field, indicating the cumulative retention value.

The Account Transactions Report can then be used to manage the values being carried forward.

Being open, this isn't something we have planned for development at this time, however we'll continue to gather the interest here, and if there's any changes we'll let you know.

  3. In tracking categories - it would be useful to be able to have the option to reorder departments so they show in the order you want in reports

  4. Could an enhancement be made so we are able to delete archived codes in bulk, either at practice level or client level, rather than having to do individually? would be helpful

  5. Would be great if you could link cirectly to the live stock levels inside Shopify so if I generate an invoice and sale from Xero then the stock level reduces and adjust accordingly. There does not seem to be functionality that does this currently.

  7. It would be great to have the option when creating a bank rule to tick the bank accounts to run the rule on, as opposed to having ALL or just one. We often need to run the rule on say three of the five bank accounts, and are forced to set up three identical bank rules just so we can select each account, as we don't want to run the rule on all five accounts. This is particularly prevalent when using tracking categories. Some entities have different bank accounts for different areas of their business and when coding we'd like…

  8. Stop autho filling T8 and T9 fields on BAS statements in Xero blue as this creates errors when importing to Xero tax.

These fields need to be left blank by default. It wastes our time to have to delete the info

  9. It would be very useful if Xero stopped pulling amendments from transactions before the VAT registration date onto the VAT Returns.

EG. Some transactions before the VAT registration date had 20% VAT on them, these were corrected after the first VAT return was completed. Which then was pulled onto a VAT return resulting in a reclaim position rather than paying HMRC.

  10. We are based in Singapore. Your system does not cater very well for GST when the functional currency is not SGD.
My Xero is USD-based, hence we have to use only GST Audit Beta.
But we have to key in "Exchange Rate for GST Purposes" into our system so that when reporting to Singapore Tax authority, we have to report in SGD. There is no way to key this in, and it means keeping a seperate excel file, doubling our work. This rate is given by each supplier on their bill, and can change on daily basis. So we need…

  11. Currently we can send invoices using eInvoicing through the PEPPOL network, however we can't send credit notes for any changes to these invoices. It would be good if credit notes (or at least negative invoices) would be enabled in Xero so any invoice changes could also be sent through the eInvoice system.

  12. In reports - Be able to make formulas from individual rows / accounts not just "columns, group totals or formula rows". I have attached an example of the work around required to get Gross Profits for hospitality split into Wet (Booze) and Dry (Food). It adds 8 lines and makes the report unwieldy. I would love to to more interesting formula. And not have to export to Excel or other programs.

  15. I am not happy with the treatment of dishonoured/reversed payments on Xero when it comes to debtors/customers (and similarly creditors/suppliers) (see attached support screenshot).

Dishonoured payments must be processed via the accounts receivable and payable channels as is the custom on any other accounting package.

The customer's records and statements must reflect when payments were dishonoured (true refection) and it should not be handled outside of the customer's module as Xero is currently doing (by deleting the original payment from the customer and allocating it a GL account and then allocating the dishonoured reversal to the same GL account).

    The…

  16. I attended the 2023 Q2 QPU and I like that for placeholders you can add a number in the square brackets to modify the month placeholder (this was in repeating journals - is it the same in other repeating features, like Invoices/Bills?). I also wonder if you can modify the year placeholder in the same way.

But I'd like also to be able to post repeating journals with a placeholder that uses a number-format for month (eg, 04 instead of April). Alternatively or additionally, it would be nice to be able to abbreviate the month to just the first 3…

  17. The sort feature in Cash Coding is great, however, not all bank feeds are. I often find I need to remove all the excess data imported in the bank feed before I can sort by payee.
It would be really useful if the changes I make in Cash Coding could be saved so I can work through a page then save.
I know, in a perfect world it would all be imported through Hub Doc, and clients wouldn't put personal transactions through the business or mix receipts from more than one of their businesses. Until we reach that stage the…

  18. Within Products and Services when items are set up that aren't invoiceable costs, and therefore the "Sell" box unticked, when they are allocated as to Projects these items don't show as "Non-Chargeable" costs as they should do, they show as "% Mark-up" costs. Therefore, when going to "Invoice Tasks and Expenses", they appear in the list of potentially invoiceable items.

Therefore, each expense item has to be edited in each individual project and switch it from "% Mark-up" to "Non-Chargeable. Such costs should automatically come through as "Non-Chargeable".

Also, "Find and Recode" feature doesn't recode the Product and Services type…

  19. New bank rec reports are based on the start of the month to the current date as a default. The old bank rec report just had an end date. Would like a fast way to move end date field and not have to also alter the start date.

Hey community! As a few of you have rightly pointed out, the previously posted workaround isn’t suitable if your end date is prior to your start date. In this case, you will have to update both start and end fields.

Thank you to everyone that flagged that, and apologies for the confusion.

Because the the Bank Reconciliation summary lives in the Bank Reconciliation reporting pack, the date picker available is the same as the other bank reports (Bank Statement and Statement Exceptions).

Understand that some users would prefer an ‘as-at’ date instead, similar to the older report. In the meantime, you can select the same date in both fields to achieve this.

As that doesn't quite solve this for some users, we're leaving this idea open to continue to collect and share your feedback with our product team.

  20. Under the GL Summary Report(new) and GL Detailed Report (new), i notice they run by account code in alphabetical order as a result of which some Balance Sheet and P/L items are mixed together.

How can i run both the above reports in a way whereby all the Balance Sheet items are on top in alphabetical order follow by all the P/L items thereafter in alphabetical order

    Can anyone help
