  1. Right now it’s not possible to have users automatically assigned to tracking categories.

    We are investigating the tracking scenario, but it looks like additional work having to go into making sure each user remembers to add the relevant codes/tracking categories each time they raise a new quote/invoice/PO.

    Is there a way to set this up so that Xero can automatically identify that a user belongs to a particular department (e.g. Sales / Accounts ) and the relevant tracking codes will be applied? Similar to how when we set up a new contact on Xero with particular defaults (re. currency or…

  2. When sending tax payment letters out via email it would be great to get an email if the address used is invalid. Like a bounce-back when you send an email from your usual email program. At the moment you have no idea if the client received the tax payment letter at all.

  5. We use Xero for our Bookkeeping business & would like to invite clients to view only the information pertaining to their individual business records. Right now, anyone who logs in can see every other client’s information, as well as their own.

  6. It would be good if ''xero bills'' would send a failed upload notification message back to the email that it was sent from if the upload had failed. This would mean that you would know what upload had failed and issue that caused it to fail.

  7. To be able to filter the History and notes - by the date that the changes were made on something specific and not the date of the original transactions.

    This would be helpful if the Annual Financials have been finalized, and a change has been made after the fact.

    For example: You want to know when the changes toward the 2022 tax year were made, towards the advertising account transactions since a specific date i.e. a date after the financials have already been finalized.

  8. Lock dates should be on main dashboard for Advisors. The setting is buried three layers deep when it needs to be preferable on the main dashboard taskbar. It is very annoying when there you have a client with Advisor privileges who also likes to make backdated changes. Either the lock date option should on main dashboard or allow journals to be outside of the lock.

    Thanks for raising this, Amy. 

    I've done some testing to check around this and can confirm - While not currently available for iOS devices when using the Xero Accounting app, this is possible on and Android device with the mobile app, or when using Xero on a desktop.

    There are some complexities adding to iOS and with a very little usage from IO users there are no plans at present to develop this there. However, it'd be good to get a better sense of the interest, and we'll start to track this through the idea, here. 🙂

  10. I have just spend over an hour trying to add the 'Expiry Date' to my Quote emails.

    I attempted so many ways of adding [Expiry date] as is written on the quote in Xero; however, it just wouldn't work. I found other suggestions that did not work, until FINALLY I found that you have to add this field in your email template as [Expiry].

    Now... when all of the other fields are listed in the template, exactly as they show up in Xero; why would you not have the Expiry date the same????

  11. Ability to select your own landing page after login.

    Am I the only person who finds it annoying to have to navigate from the dashboard, to business, invoices, then to the awaiting payments tab every time I log in?

    I would love to able to choose which page I see when logging in.

  13. An employee is in charge of paying our foreign supplier accounts. So we gave him the role "Invoice only (Approve and Pay). Unfortunately, he is not able to see a full statement of the supplier account with all invoices, credit notes and payments made so he does not know how much is owed. He is also unable to enter payments against a supplier without an invoice already existing in Xero, which is an issue when making payments to suppliers who require payment in advance.   15. The HubSpot-Xero integration should pull the "deal name" on HubSpot into the "invoice reference" on Xero. The way the integration currently works means that when you generate invoices from HubSpot the invoice reference on Xero is blank, making it impossible to identify which deals they relate to.

    Thanks for the idea, Matt. Not something we have direct plans for expanding the Hubspot integration for just atm, but I've made sure to share with our team in this space and its something they'll consider as they continue to improve the Hubspot and Xero integration. 

    For the meantime, we'll get a sense of the wider interest in this here. 🙂

  16. Ability to remove unnecessary fields when setting up a client in XPM or ability to hide the blank fields after the setup so that they don't show up in the Client Details Tab. The purpose is to see the fields with details on them only and to make them look neat and tidy. Please see attached.

Change the permissions required to connect apps, most importantly the Pipedrive app. Since currently Pipedrive users (sales people) are required to have full access to Xero in order to connect and use the integration. We can't give our sales team full access to our accounts due to sensitive transaction details and salaries contained in Xero as you would expect.

  18. Please add ability to make type face in the Xero account transactions screen black or more bold. An elderly user has asked me to post this request. The light type face is difficult to see. They are managing all other aspects of Xero so would be great if this option could be added.

  19. Ability to push files that’s uploaded in Xero Files to cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, and Sharepoint).

    Purpose: Users can easily store/keep their files that they’ve uploaded in Xero into their own cloud storage. Especially when they have many documents that exceed the limit of Xero Files.
