    Are Xero considering providing a Gender Equity report in the future?
    I raised a case for our HR Dept last year and the answer from Xero was no.

    If any community member has any short cuts on gathering this info, please respond to this post.

  2. When generating the Payroll Activity Summary report, it would be good if I could select certain employees.

    Hiya everyone, as you may have seen we've released a new version of the Payroll Activity Summary report for AU and UK versions of Xero payroll. While it's still not possible to select multiple individual employees to run in this report, what you can do is run the report for an Employee group.

    At this time we don't have plans for developing the ability to select and run the report for multiple employees, however we'll continue to track this here and update if there's any progress.

  3. Unscheduled payruns - the ability to not include pending leave. When processing bonuses etc, Xero automatically puts in the up coming leave even though it is not appropriate to be included in this unscheduled payrun and should be in the standard payrun. Because we pay monthly this only exacerbates the situation. To have the option to not include the leave in that payrun would help with this.

  5. Ability to export pay items and update pay rates in a spreadsheet and then re-import when pay rates have been updated. Would save so much time each year when Fair Work increases pay rates.

  6. The ability to upload timesheets to Xero using a CSV in the same way you can upload a batch file. This would be useful for clients who use different project management apps / software and where there is no available integration to Xero. This would reduce manual data entry and reduce the hazard of reduce.

  7. As an approver of timesheets i see there are couple of issues which can make the process water tight.

    1.Ability to see approved time sheets (siimilar to leaves). Currently once the timesheet is approved for an individual there is no way to check what has been approved

    2.Ability to run a report for all employees that have been approved or alternatively ability to allow access to certain reports to the approver.

  12. Hello,

    I wanted to take a moment to share a suggestion that I believe could significantly simplify our payroll process. It involves the implementation of a bulk upload feature, which would allow us to handle payroll data in a more efficient manner. We will need a template that contains essential details for each employee. These details may include the employee's name, rate of salary, and various pay items relevant to their compensation. This would reduce the time and effort invested in processing payroll.

  13. Currently Xero is set up to nil off both the Employer NI Expense GL and Liability GL as soon as payroll is run because employers NI contribution is always setoff against HMRC allowances.

    However, it is important to have employers NI contribution cleared only when remittances are made to HMRC and when HMRC send allowances (which is always a month accrued). The allowances are setoff against the employers NI expense GL.

    This treatment will allow the accountant to respond to remittances made to HMRC in terms of employers NI and allowances received from HMRC accordingly.

  14. Ability in payroll to reinstate terminated employees past the 30 days Xero currently allows. Many businesses have seasonal workers or students who just work holidays, being able to reinstate the employee with all their information would be much easier than having to add them as a new employee every time they are re-employed. Most other payroll systems allow reinstatement of terminated employees.

  15. For some clients we use Xero's Postponement and Eligibility letters. This has proved very useful but currently the letters cannot be customised.

    We have a client for example who pays a higher employer contribution percentage than the standard. The letters however, only show the standard percentage's despite the settings being different to the standard. We also have a client who has asked for their company logo to be added to the letters.

    After speaking with Xero Central I was informed that the letters currently cannot be customised and don't pull from the pension settings.

    If this could be looked into…

  17. We have hourly paid employees who get paid 12 x per year with either a 4 week or 5 week pay period. At present, Xero doesn't give this option to change a pay period within payroll calendars. There are only set pay periods.

  18. Streamlining " Multiple of Employee's Ordinary Earnings Rate" .
    I have a client who has 14 employees and 4 Ordinary Earnings Rate for each employee as their business trades 7 days a week. Each Employee is on a different Ordinary Earnings Rate. The current system on Xero requires you to create and select Multiple of employees ordinary earnings rate in the payroll settings and calculate and enter the multiplier % for each earnings rate for each employee in order for the ordinary earnings rate to be calculated and for the annual leave and carers/personal leave to be calculated.   19. Xero Me app no longer allows entry of allowances. Previously employees have had ability to enter their hours and any allowances attached on their templates but apparently since the change to STP2 they have stopped this ability which is crazy. Seems to be no point in using Xerome.

    Seeing we have just spent hours ensuring our clients have mapped the allowances correctly to STP2 categories not sure why this has been removed. Pls vote to have returned.
