AU Payroll - Assign hours worked from a timesheet to projects
At the moment I am adding employee costs (wages) into xero projects.
We have an option with bills to assign a project to that bill be awesome to be able to assign hours worked (with cost) to each of our projects in the timesheet section, and to set per line be good.
eg;
Monday project 1 - $250
Tuesday project 2 - $300
wednesday project 3 - $250

Like below, there is a desperate need for employees and/or supervisors to be able to allocate different amounts of time within their timesheet to different projects. It shocks me it’s not already an option.

There’s no functionality in Xero where the Projects name appear when uploading the Projects time within Payroll timesheet. This is essential! Please correct this flaw in Projects.

Please add this feature! We are a fabrication business where every job is made in projects and the guys have to allocate their time to projects everyday. Then they also have to do their timesheets. Something is ALWAYS forgotten. The guys also don't appreciate having to fill both out because it feels like double handling.
We have multiple projects every week that are completed and invoiced out so assigning costs to projects is imperative. Without it we can't continue as a business because costs must be allocated otherwise reports do not disclose true profits. Hence future quoting will be incorrect if based on historical project time entries if the time entries have not been correctly entered.

As a labour hire company, we load the timesheets from the supervisors, not the worker. Is there a way we can add timesheets for all personnel to a project without them having to be a user of projects or Xero? We would be happy to pay for the personnel users in Payroll. As a transient business we could be using anywhere up to 200 personnel in a year and some of them may only work for one week,
We may also have multiple projects within the week so assigning costs to projects is imperative. -

Having an option to assign Timesheet Hours to a Project or have the hours carry through to the Project (as it does with "Assigning Bills") would hours of double entry.

We are not a fan of the Projects app (unless the GPS tracking & Project addresses can be managed from within Xero by an administrator and not managed by the user from the app).
We believe a simpler option would be for time to be allocated when we are reviewing timesheets for approval - just like allocating Bills or Invoices to Projects. We welcome the new Timesheets with start & end times, break times & notes but feel it could go further.
