  1. Be able to add a message for each individual employee to tell them what their premium is for their medical insurance benefit.

    The premium for each employee is different, so can't use the payslip message on a payroll run. Adding individual data to a person's payslip each month is too labour intensive.

    Maybe some type of pay item without affecting their pay/tax/NI etc. It could then be added to their pay template so it appears every month.

  2. Employer pension contributions for employees on SMP should be calculated on the employee's earnings before they went on leave, not on the reduced rate of 90%. Xero's calculation is currently on the latter with no option to overwrite. The correct calculation would be first choice, but the option to change figures would be helpful also

    Hi everyone👋, thanks for the idea and support here. To be open and upfront we don’t have any plans in the near term to expand this functionality.

    Right now, you can create an additional Employer Pensions pay item and add it to the employee's Pay Template. When the pay run is processed you'll be able to enter in the difference due, to ensure the total contributions equals the required value. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea. 

  3. The gross to net report currently doesn't include reimbursed expenses, and possibly other things we haven't found yet so the net pay doesn't agree to the payslips! Please can we have a gross to net report that agrees to payslips? Failing that even a report that shows reimbursed expenses per employee would be better than nothing.

  4. If there's an error in a payrun that causes STP filing to fail, that payrun shows up in STP finalisation for that financial year as something to fix. Given that filing STP just gives the YTD totals to the ATO, this means that even if I've fixed what caused the error, by doing a correcting payrun (as per Xero instructions), I will still be told that it needs fixing when running the STP finalisation for the EOFY.   6. We really need to be able to set a limit, be it based on number of instances or a dollar amount. Having to do it maunally at present is very problematic when you have a large payroll.

  7. When doing a catch up job it takes forever to have to click into each pay run then back into pay employees and repeat. It would be great to be able to tick each one on the payroll > pay employees screen and then submit all at once.

  8. Have tax rates added to Pay Items and or a way to add employee tax rate to unscheduled pay runs so you don't have to edit tax rate when processing.

    This will ensure correct tax rate is applied to all employees every time a pay is processed, whether is a normal pay run and or unscheduled pay (bonus etc)

  9. As with the financial side in Xero and their history and notes section, it would be very useful to be able to track who has approved leave or timesheets in Xero Payroll. We need site on which manager has approved the leave application or timesheet to mitigate any risk of the wrong people approving these.

  10. The ability to change auto enrolment percentages when a new staff member first is assessed and paid. A staff member has negotiated a higher employer percentage and I know we can change it once this has been added to the payslip going forward but at the time they are assessed and going to be included in the first pay run as well as a popup which lets you postpone them it would be good to also get the option to edit their pension percentages at the same time.   11. I want our employees to receive an automatic email when their leave balance is above a certain level, separate to their payslip. The email will be a prompt advising them of their leave balance and our company policy regarding taking leave. I'd anticipate the email workflow would be triggered once each payroll period, when it is completed, based on a conditional logic such as 'if balance is greater than X, this email is generated for Employee A'.

  12. STP2 - Splitting allowances for all purpose from the hourly rate

    We have employees with all purpose allowances - ie it forms part of the base hourly rate and extrapolates in to overtime rates and annual leave loading. I now have to take it out of the rate and pay as separate line items including overtime and annual leave multipliers.

    Hey community 👋 thanks for the interest in this idea! 


    Just to clarify, when creating a new allowance pay item, you'll have the options to 'Contribute towards annual leave rate' and 'contributes towards overtime rate'.


    This setting will include allowance type pay items in the calculation of annual leave and overtime rates. 


    I can see the main request here was a 'box to indicate an add on allowance'. 


    Can you confirm if this tick box in payroll settings solves that request?

  13. Payroll doesn’t calculate pension until after you submit the payroll/RTI, so you don’t know what the actual net payments are until submitted. Try explaining to a client that what they signed off isn’t what they actual pay.

It would be great if all the Completed leave was in order with the most recent at the top instead of having to change the order every time I need to see the most recent or scroll all the way to the bottom. I love how the rejected leave requests are now all at the bottom of the Leave list on the employee record but I'm not sure what the "Employee Surname (A-Z)" sort option is for when I'm in just one employee

  17. Many super fund member numbers have special characters, eg, dash '-' or underscore '_'.
    At the moment, only numbers can be entered as the Member Number, which means any member numbers with special characters are deemed 'invalid' by Xero. This means we are unable to process super payments for the staff member.

  19. Student Loan Tax Calculation
    Xero tax sets out the calculation of Income tax and NIC very well.

    Unfortunately, the system is obscure in relation to displaying the calculation for Student Loan Tax which is important for an increasing number of young people coming into financial maturity.

    We need to provide adequate assurance both to them and the increasingly aggressing Student Loan Company to avoid penalties and unexpected bills.

    I request that Xero includes a breakdown of the calculation on the Summary computation report.

  20. Roster Board for Employee Shift Management.

    A scheduling /roster to show employee shifts. That then can be reconciled against the timesheets submitted. The ability to also send the weekly/fortnighly schedule roster to each employee - or have them be able to view it on the Xero Me app. Have a clock in clock out feature on the Xero Me App to record when a shift starts and ends.
