  1. After reporting a bug (can no longer preview contact files) I was given the following response :

    "As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to preview contact files anymore. You can however, download it and view it instead.
    I’ve included a link to Xero Product Ideas where you can view and support current ideas or create a new one to share your thoughts."

    When something breaks you fix it. You DO NOT pretend that fixing it is a "New Feature" - that then needs requested and voted on.

  2. Could the 'overview' page of the contact show all the contacts/persons associated with a Contact Account, not just the 'first' one?
    We have 2 or 3 contacts/persons on most of our accounts, it would be nice to be able to see their names/emails on the company overview page, rather than having to click into 'Edit' to find these details.

  3. It would save us so much time if there was an option to turn off debtor statements per contact just like we have the option to turn off invoice reminders. That way when sending statements we can bulk send without having to send them one at a time.

    Interesting idea - we'll continue tracking interest here. 🙂 In the meantime I did want to highlight how you can send multiple statements at once and may help some here. 


    While it's not possible to set a default for each contact, you can currently send statements to multiple users at once - 

    From your Contact lists either select all, or just the contacts you'd like, select the 3 menu dots in the top right of the page where you'll see an option to 'Send statements'.

    • When clicked this will take you to the statements screen where you can further refine the lists of contacts you'd like to send a statement too
  4. we need more than 6 email addresses per contact, or the ability to choose groups instead of contacts only , when generating new invoices.

  5. I have a client who is wanting to set up a vendor and queried about the ability to send a form to the potential vendor with information required directly from Xero
    Unfortunately this is not an option at this time but I am wondering if this is something other businesses would use and how helpful this would be

  6. Currently, if you change the address of a contact, old invoices and bills will show the new address and not the old address.

    It would it be good if the old documents can keep the old address. It is because having the old address is a piece of evidence to show where the goods have been delivered to. It is important to show that to the tax authority and auditors where the goods are delivered to determine the GST/VAT type, etc.

  7. I am on a customer page and it shows that they currently owe for two open invoices. I would like to be able to click on the button Open Invoices and have the option to receive payment for those open invoices without having to leave the customer page. Currently I have to go to 1. Business 2. invoices 3. Awaiting Payment 4. Scroll through ALL open invoices (no filter even?), 5. Select the invoices I want to receive payment on 6. Select Deposit. Why not just go straight to the customer's open invoices and receive payment?

  9. There is a difference between the functionality of new quote page and the old one.

    On the old quote page, when a new contact was entered and the quote was saved, you could then click directly on the contact field which was linked to the contact page. This allowed you to quickly add additional info (email address, phone number, etc). This made emailing the quote quick and easy.

    On the new form, after you save the quote the contact name remains in edit mode.... so you cannot click on it to get to the contact page. There is no link…

  10. Hi not sure if it is available, but can you add WhatsApp to clients? It would be great if one can email and WhatsApp client invoices and statements, directly from the online portal.

  11. In the settings for Included in emails be able to specify which emails. For instance you have two people who receive and approve quotes. You don't want to send quotes to the account that processes invoices. The account that processes invoices only wants invoices and the people who approved the quotes don't necessarily want to be copied in on the invoices.
    I imagine this would be a tick bock for Quote, Invoice, Credit, Purchase order, Bill, next to each include in setting.

  13. We have 1,782 “Archived Contacts” from mergers with other data following adoption of Xero Practice Management. The vast majority of these archived clients have the reference field completed with a 6 digit reference that we would like to re-use for the current clients.

    Unfortunately the reference field needs to be unique and so we cannot apply this reference to the current contact until it is changed or deleted in the archived client.

    Please can we have a bulk delete of the reference field for all 1782 archived clients (or add an extra digit if you cannot simply delete the reference…

  14. Stop messing around with things that people haven't asked for and actually look at implementing things that have been asked for.
    The new look for customer and sales ledgers is awful. Why change it?
    When it comes to being easy to reconcile supplier ledgers Xero is already miles behind it's competitors but you've somehow managed to make it even worse!
    For example if there is an overpayment that you part allocate against a bill and then refresh the screen it shows that the bill is paid but the overpayment still shows that the full amount is to be used, it…

  15. We deal with different people in purchasing, accounting, owners, etc for each account. Contact records are being treated as Account records. This makes it very difficult to keep track of all people we need to do business with within an account.

  17. When in the contact section and viewing the activity tab, it would be useful to be able to view PDF invoice from that screen rather than click on an invoice and click the attachment tab (similar to the function in bills to pay).

  18. As an employee, I receive an email every time a leave request was approved.
    My boss receives an email every time a leave request is submitted and every time a timesheet is submitted.
    It would be great to disable these email notifications

I use the History/Notes section to keep track when I'm doing credit control- when I've chased the customer etc, and I now have to copy and paste the email I've sent to them-however, I will often need to send a long communication email which ends up being more than 2500 characters, which means I then have to copy and paste half the email and then the other half, so that they run together-it would be a lot easier if the notes section was able to take more than 2500 characters.

It would be great to have the ability to copy a contact in order to create a new one We often have the same agent representing various clients, and creating a new contact for each one is cumbersome. The option to copy an existing contact (making changes to the name or account number but keeping the address, bank details etc) would be extremely useful.
