  5. It should be possible to search Fixed Assets by serial number using the existing search box.

    Otherwise the Fixed Assets registration feature is not that useful, because if you have i.e. 50 of the same asset you have to manually open all 50 assets to find out which one actually matches the SN of the asset you are disposing.

    If you can't search based on the serial number, what is even the point of entering it?

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and detail of why searching b y serial # would be of use. We understand how this'd be beneficial when you have multiple of the same asset being registered.

    At this time, as with a few parts of Xero our product team in the Fixed Assets space are focused on updating some core Fixed Assets technology to provide future capability and a consistent look and feel to what you've begun seeing in other parts of Xero like reports, and invoicing.

    We'll keep watching the support for ideas closely and share any updates with you all.

  6. I need to search Invoice descriptions to find Invoices that have certain quote references.

    I've found a workaround for this using an Account Transaction report and filtering on description. However I can't find a way to use an OR operator.

    For example I can create a report that finds all quote references with "A0", and I can modify that to display a report that finds all quotes with a reference that contains "L0".

    However, I can't find a way to create a single report that contains all quote references with "A0" OR "L0" (or "A0" OR "A1" OR "A2")

    Thanks for the detail in your idea here, Paul. I had a bit of a test of this myself and have checked in with our reporting team. 

    It doesn't quite appear in the modal once the report's run - this is something that we'll look to improve. 

    However, it's possible to enter multiple terms which will each be searched and return results for (like OR as an operator) - All you need to do is enter a comma(,) and space between each condition. 

    For example A0, L0 or A0, A1, A2, 🙂

  7. It would be helpful to link our 2 tracking categories together. As it stands, we've got departments within our business as tracking category 1, and divisions as category 2. It would be so helpful if we could put default links in place, as each department links directly to a specific division in the business. That way, when we go to post sales & purchase invoices to the ledger, once a division is added to the tracking category field, the division is automatically populated.

  8. Can we please extend the budget manager period from 12 months to more than 3 years or whatever is possible? The data in the budget manager does not go beyond 12 months and if the budget is to be changed after a year of upload it doesn't have such access.
    When working for a movie/film-making company the budget runs for more than 12 months and it needs to be changed time and again. But Xero doesn't have such an option which makes it impossible to get an accurate variance.
    It would be great help.

  9. In Find and Recode allow Advisor only to tick the range of items to show ... 1,000 or 5,000 etc. 200 only is a pain.

  10. Please provide better organization tools to published reports archive such as being able to sort published reports by report end date (cut-off date)!

    Sometimes we have to go back and reperform a client's bank reconciliation because they don't always know what they are doing, or new transactions cleared in the subsequent period affect previously published report. It doesn't take long to see the published reports archive get disorganized and hard to find a published report.

  11. I would like Xero to remove or make it optional when making batch supplier payment without swift code or linking with bank account as not every company will link their xero with their bank. Current batch payment is not applicable to my company as we do not link our bank account with xero. This compulsory swift code for bank processing is really not user friendly & our company book keeper has to enter supplier payment 1 by 1 for 20 invoice payment.

  12. Could Xero either provide notifications to users when their bank feed has automatically retrieved their transactions or have a place in Xero where a user can see the time their feed has automatically been updated. This would help those people who receive notifications from their banks when somebody has successfully logged in know that it is from a legitimate source.

  13. It would be really great if we could add a description to a Batch Deposit, instead of it coming up automatically as "Payment: multiple items"
    I know we can add a reference but being able to put your own description would also be great too.

  14. Projects - it would be really helpful if we could select Projects as favourites (with the star like in reports) so when we click on the Projects heading we see our favourites in the drop down list, like we do with reports we use frequently. See image for example.

  15. Rather than the very small, blue writing to preview a current GST period, can this please be bigger and a button.
    A lot of clients do not know this feature is in the GST Return area as its too small to find easily and previewing the current return is useful for businesses to know what their current result is looking like, especially if they are using this feature for cashflow/GST saving.

  16. When saving a custom report for a certain timeframe, when you want to use it to do the next month (for example you are doing a monthly & year to date Profit & Loss account. Your last one saved was February & now you want to do March), you put in the date of March. Xero then changes the last month you had in there last time to the month you just put in, and then changes every month you already had there to one month less & removes the first month you started with.     Hi team, is it possible that this is based on the way the Date column has been set up in the Layout editor? Rather than selecting one of the relative date ranges, you could enter a custom date range so that if the report dates are changed this won't impact custom date range of the column that you've added.

    Let me know if there's something I might be missing in your idea here.

  17. Consolidate Depreciation posted to GL per asset category - currently my deprecation is reflecting per asset in the GL expense account. The Asset Register and Depreciation Schedule already serve the purpose of the per line item amount and basis for a reconciliation. Duplicating the detail adds a large amount of data into my GL ,especially when the asset base starts to grow. Please can it rather be consolidated in the GL per asset category per month ?

  18. Allow businesses to adapt their Xero Dashboard with "Widgets" such as reminders of submission dates for next payroll run, CIS submission, VAT Return etc. Also show current outstanding values for net pay, CIS & PAYE/NIC payments, VAT payment/refund.

    Hi Sharon, a few ideas rolled in the one here. While appreciate the detail it would not be possible for the teams to work on these widgets at once. 

    It would be good to get a view of the interest in each. 

    I've adjust the title of your idea here to reflect your first idea on reminders. We have another for the ability to show tax on the dashboard you may like to join & support, and welcome to start any others for particular widgets you'd like to see so we can begin to get a sense of the interest in each. 🙂

  19. I would like the field 'Branding Theme' added to invoice report as a column that can be selected.
    Any invoice report - aged debtors by detail would be great. I need to be able to analyse outstanding invoices by this field and cannot.

  20. I found the reconciliation options too complicated for my use case. I didn't understand or need the codes and found my best efforts left the balances showing the wrong amounts. Really all I would need is a distinction between "Money in" and "Money out", and custom tagging so I could track my own categories rather than try to make sense of a technical coding system.
