  1. While importing bills from QB in bulk, it would be a great time-saver if Xero could automatically Approve the bills while being imported. Currently they go to the Draft folder.

Hi team, coming back across this idea, and with quite some time since it's last interaction we're going to, move the idea to delivered with the previous option suggested the best options here.

Xero Partner's have access to a Conversion toolbox when setting up a client orgs which'll allows them to import invoices and bills as any status.

However if you're not a Xero Partner, while bills import as draft, it's quite easy to bulk approve imported draft bills from the list view of the Draft tab - Just select all the bills you'd like and click the Approve option

  2. would be great to be able to filter current employees when looking at Leave Transaction Report. We have many hundred old employees and have to scroll through all of them to get the individual employee.. also no search function to be able to find the employee easily

Heya team, thanks for sharing back on how we could improve Xero for you.

As part of our upgrading Payroll reports with the new version of the Leave Transactions report for both Australian and New Zealand versions of Xero, you can now Search by Employee. So, you'll be able to quickly jump to an employee of interest!😊

  3. It would be useful if a Xero Me App - Approver had the ability to view a break down of the hours an employee works across the week (not just the total hours worked) before approving the timesheet. I see there is a lot of support for adding start & finish times and break times in the Xero Me App and this would be an extension of that.

    Hello community 😊

Thanks for sharing this idea. I’ve just updated the title to be AU specific as this feature has been delivered in the AU region! For our NZ voters I’ve split this to a new idea and transferred your votes.

We added a timesheet setting in Xero Me (AU) that lets employees record start and end times for work and unpaid breaks. With this, Team Manager / Approver roles have the ability to review and approve start, end and break time entered, as well as any notes added by an employee on timesheets within the Xero Me app 🎉

  4. Reports: Bank Summary Report
The recent shift to new reports has not considered the Bank Summary Report. It is an important report in the sense that it tracks movements and balances for all the banks.
Please consider creating the Bank Summary report in the new format.

Hi Kylie, while there's not a specific employee notes report, you can run the Payroll History with a few filters to get what you need here.

When you run the report you can either run it for all employees, or select the specific employees from the drop down. Set the Type to 'Employees' and Apply.

Once run you can then enter 'Notes' in the search to further filter and only show employees notes added to their records in the set date range. If needed you'll also be able to export the report to Excel or PDF.

  6. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

Hi team, we recently made a change to the tabbing behaviour, so now when you tab to a field and highlight an option, tabbing to the next field will hold the selection that was highlighted.

For example pressing Tab in the 'To' field will hold the highlighted contact, and move you onto the 'Issue date' field.

  8. To enable VAT to be shown on Account Transaction Reports for BANK ACCOUNTS
    .
When reconciling the VAT to the VAT Reports, it is necessary to pick up the VAT from each type of transaction. We can pick up some of the outputs from the Sales Day Book (Receivables Invoice Detail) and some of the Inputs from the Purchase Day Book (Payable Invoice Detail) but what of the VAT which is dealt with straight from the Bank Account with no related Invoice / Bill.

VAT Inspectors require a clear audit trail and although the VAT Reporting itself shows each transaction,…

Hi team, we wanted to return and provide a further update to the idea here understanding it's still getting some attention. As mentioned in my last post we introduced a common format('Account Transactions with tax rates') within the General Ledger Details report that provides a more direct overview of the tax entered for all transactions in your organisation. It includes all transactions that have a tax implication to the ledger regardless of where they came from.

To provide a bit more on how tax treatment is shown and how Xero works - Xero automatically splits transactions to record the tax element of a transaction based on the tax rate selected on lines of your transactions, this saves you time having to record the apportionment in separate lines.

Bank transactions that are shown in reports are the amounts that have been received in your actual bank account and there fore they…

  9. Remove rejected leave items from view. As currently they are front an center even if related to a historic time for all employee when in desktop version of Xero Me.

Hey all, 👋  thanks for your support on this idea and sorry for the late update. I’m popping in to switch it across to delivered for our AU users!
Just before the end of the year, we rolled out the option for employees to archive their rejected leave requests in Xero Me web.
Thanks again for your feedback 😊

For voters from other regions, if this is still something you’d like to see feel free to make a copy of this idea and pop the region in brackets.

  10. In the case of no transaction in a bank account, we can't import a blank CSV and so the statement balance date stays the date of the last import transaction.

I wish that we could modify the statement balance date to today's date even if no transaction occurred since the last import.

Hi team, back again to confirm that this has now been rolled out to all regions.

As note in my last update the new Bank Reconciliation Summary report now gives you the ability to enter a Bank statement ending balance.

If you don't have an imported statement balance or the imported statement balance doesn't match your actual bank statement you can enter an amount and Xero will calculate the balance out by based on your input.

Thanks for sharing where you'd like to see change in Xero.

  13. HMRC's guidance on invoices in currencies other than GBP, found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/foreign-currency-transactions-vat-and-tour-operators lists specific requirements that need to be met when creating an invoice in a currency other than GBP, namely:
    1. "the total net value of goods and services at each VAT rate" needs to be shown in GBP (as well as in the foreign currency)"
    2. "the amount of VAT, if any, at each rate" needs to be shown in GBP (as well as in the foreign currency)"

Hi all, apologies we've not responded here before now. Checking in with our team on this our current invoice templates do accommodate what's needed here.

With the standard invoice template you can select to 'Show currency conversion as' 'Net amounts with tax totals', which display a currency conversion table with the net amounts and tax grouped by tax rates or tax components. A base currency equivalent is also included. You can see more information on displaying currency conversion on Xero Central.

We also provide a highly customisable DOCX invoice template that can be used to provide more detail if you choose.

  14. When entering a quotation, is it at all possible to do a selection per customer so that we can print out a "back order"list from the quotation. This will enable us to see the customer's name and description for all outstanding orders. Then we dont have to go into each and every quote seperately?

  15. The short-term cash flow projection should allow 2 weekly/fortnightly expense predictions (instead of just weekly and monthly predictions). The current absence of this feature currently results in incorrect cashflow forecasts (e.g. we pay wages every two weeks, so the timing of our wages prediction is always incorrect).

Thanks for your feedback, it's good to hear how you're using short term cashflows.

Predictions within Short-term cash flows should be generated for recurring amounts based on the last 3 months.

Our tool looks for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payments - the dates, amounts and contact have to be fairly consistent each time for a prediction to be generated.

If you do find you're not seeing predictions you'd expect to appear for fortnightly payments do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a deeper dive into why this may not be showing in Short-term cash flows. Thanks

  16. For manual reconciling, the bank statement file can be generated using a CSV template and requires inputting details like the Date, Description, and Reference. However, users, especially those with high monthly transactions, may want to change/edit the descriptions after the file has been uploaded and reconciled.
Currently, to do so, the bank statement needs to be deleted and re-uploaded, which means unreconciling previously reconciled items and repeating the entire process. If there are many to be amended, this process may need to be repeated multiple times. It would be beneficial if we could directly edit the contents of the bank…

Hi team, with the new Bank Reconciliation report you can now enter a Bank statement ending balance.

This means, if you don't have an imported statement balance or this doesn't match your actual bank statement balance you can enter the balance yourself, update the report and Xero will show the Calculated balance out by amount.

  17. Have a ribbon/menu across the top of the screen with the ability to pin a “button” that links to your most frequently used windows - eg bills to pay drafts window , or the reconcile window of the most used bank feed, or a report you run daily

    1. There should be an option so that we can arrange bills/invoices according to suppliers /customers when processing bills/invoices just like in dext .And next option should be included in both archive and during processing bills/invoices.
    2. Split and merge option should be included when processing bills/invoices. 3 There should be a filter for credit note, overpayment and prepayment in archive invoices.

Hi Uzair, a few ideas shared in the one post here. It's really best if we can keep each idea separate so we can gather interest in each and keep you updated of change to the product that might resolve what's being asked.

In relation to your post here we have a couple of existing ideas you may also like to add your vote for and follow for any updates.

In relation to invoices, you'll find when approving invoices you can Approve and view next or Approve and add another.

From the draft tab in invoices you can also select multiple invoice and use the Copy to option to create one invoice from a collection of invoices which might help when looking to merge. This way once…
