Confirmation when editing transaction before lock dates
After the lock dates is set, xero should prompt advisors to alert them when they try to edit anything before the lock dates, and let the advisors to confirm that they really want to edit the transaction before the lock dates.
1 voteHi Choon Wei, there are 2 lock dates that can be set in your Xero organisation. One will stop all users except advisers from making changes, the other will stop all users from making changes on or before the lock date set.
Setting up the latter lock date should help with the notifications that you're mentioning here, and where you'd still like to proceed with the change you'd go to the financial settings to remove/reapply the lock date once complete.

Advisor Reports (financials) - hide empty notes in report templates
You heartily pat yourself on the back for a job well done in the latest blog post re: product updates, while missing the point completely.
Cool, you now hide empty notes in the financials automatically, but you DON'T recast the numbering of the notes, so I still have to go through and click '...' -> 'Hide' anyway.
Looking at the Balance Sheet before doing this the numbering goes:
- 2
- 3
- 5
- 15Not very professional now, is it.
2 votesThanks for feeding back on this with us here, Paul. We appreciate that you'd like Xero to auto renumber notes on screen where they are automatically hidden in report templates. While there is a bit of complexity in being able to do this, our team have ensured Xero will automatically renumber notes on any published or exported documents, keeping your reports consistent and professional.

For a business needing to invoice based on a percentage share, it would be useful to have an additional column that calculates thepercentage
For a business needing to invoice based on a percentage share (eg horse racing syndicate), it would be useful to have an additional column to calculate the percentage of the full amount.
A fix I have used is to apply a discount of 100- the share percentage but it would be more professional to have a percentage column.1 voteHi Anne, as previously shared there is a discount column within new invoicing. If not shown automatically - click the show/hide columns button to check and select Discount.
You can enter discounts as either an amount of percentage. If you'd like to enter a percentage discount simply add the % character in the field 🙂

Financial Statements - Delete a bulk of empty notes in Notes to the Financial Statements
Good morning,
I am preparing a set of financials in Xero Reports for a client. One thing I find that takes up time is when the financials have limited account items, and I still need to use the Notes to the Financial Statements.
To save time it would be great if we could delete multiple empty notes at once instead of using the time-consuming process of pressing the three dots and deleting or hiding them individually.
Many thanks.
1 voteThanks for your interactions with the team, Tim. I wanted to round back to confirm for everyone here that we've now added some automation to Report Templates, so now any 'empty' schedules will automatically be hidden when publishing or exporting the reports from Xero Blue. 😊

Xero HQ | Clients - Filter by Xero files
Now that you've forcible inserted every single client as a line item in Xero HQ via Single Client Record, we NEED the ability to filter search results to only show client lines with Xero files attached.
Example: searching for 'Lee' used to result in 3 client Xero files - now it results in 598.
This is literally unusable.
EDIT: There is a filter for TYPE of subscription; I do not and could not care less whether a client has a Ledger, GST Cashbook, Starter, Premium, whatever other tier you care to make up.
I just NEED a tickbox to toggle…
3 votesQuick turn around here! 🎉We've just released enhancements to our XHQ Client list filtering. We've expanded the filters to include;
- Banks connected
- Financial Year
- Organisation connected
As mentioned earlier the organisation filter will help with what you're after here by filtering by clients with or without an organisation attached. Thanks, and keep sharing with us through Product ideas🙂

Xero HQ - Client List to indicate who owns subscription
We're looking to add an indicator as to subscription ownership for the Xero HQ client list. This is just to say if the organisation is billed directly to the partner or if the partner is invited in and the client is responsible for the subscription.
This will be crucial for the Spark and Helix rollout to help customers work through with their clients and get subscriptions updated. We also believe this could help with transitioning some organisations from being partner billed to direct billed which will increase revenue for Xero.
20 votesHi community, with a recent update to the client export you now get a column for Subscriber email address. With the export file you can then filter the Subscriber email address column to exclude the practice's email and determine which of your clients own their own subscription. 🙂

e-invoicing - LHDN Malaysia
Starting from July 2024 Malaysia government implement e-invoicing. It would be grateful if Xero could integrate with LHDN. It will save lots of hustle and time to upload the invoices into the portal. Hope this can be done before the implementation begins.
82 votesHI everyone, apologies for the delayed update on the idea here. From 1 January 2025, if you earn between 25 million and 100 million RM, you need to comply with eInvoicing in Malaysia. This is the mandate set by IRBM.
As shared recently we have detailed help on Xero Central, and to summarise;
You'll need to register in Xero with invoici first, then you can send your eInvoice to IRBM from Xero.
Monthly you'll need to upload a consolidated eInvoice to the IRBM. This is a report on your income and self-billed activities and transactions via the IRBM portal.
IRBM has issued a relaxation of requirements for taxpayers in phases 2 and 3. During phases 2 and 3, you’re not required to send or receive eInvoices. But you can send and receive eInvoices from Malaysian businesses in Xero.

My Xero - Visual indicator of reconciled client files
We have an issue with our Xero clients where we ask them to reconcile their accounts and let us know once completed so we can process their BAS.
The problem is that they never let us know so we have to go in to each client and see if they have reconciled up to the end of the prior period. This is very time consuming.
Is there a way that on the My Xero screen, there can be a column with some kind of indicator when a month or period has been completed?
This could be a quick visual guide…
20 votesHi everyone, as of today we've launched client insights for Partners which is available within Xero HQ and Xero Practice Manager. This screen gives you a view of all your clients and key indicators to help you analyse and compare how your clients are doing, in one place. As part of this you can see the number of unreconciled transactions a client has - their value and date, and judge whether the unreconciled transactions are likely to make a material difference to what you see on the insights dashboard. See more on this feature in our blog. 🙂

E-mail template for W9 request
I would like an e-mail that could be sent directly from XERO requesting the the W9.
2 votesHi community, with a recent update we've made you can now link your email client within the W-9 modal in both Contacts and 1099 in Xero. There is also an email template provided which you can edit the contents of to suit your business. 🙂 See more on this in Xero Central.

Report Templates - Set specific notes as hidden by default
Hi there,
Absolutely loving the new 'hide' note function in the financial statement templates. This is a much appreciated update! Could we look into adding an option for certain notes to be hidden by default in the adviser report templates? The reason being, that our firm uses a standardised template that includes a number of accounting policy notes that may not be applicable for all entity types. Our current process was to delete the notes that were not relevant and there are a number of notes that are irrelevant more often than not. If we had the ability to hide…5 votesHi team, this is now available to everyone! 🎉 You'll now find you can manually hide a note (text block or schedule) in the master practice report templates.
Thanks for contributing here in Product ideas and letting us know the changes that matter to you 😊

Reports - Add FX rates to reports
FX rates to be added back to new reports like they used to be in the old reports. Otherwise how do we know what exchange rate is used for conversion at any given time?
Thanks
3 votesHi everyone, along with earlier reports I mentioned, our team have now expanded disclosures for foreign currency to the following reports;
- Receivable Invoice Detail/Summary (And all common formats)
- Payable Invoice Detail/Summary (and all common formats)
- Contact Transactions Summary
- Supplier Bill Activity
- Customer Invoice Activity
- Bank Reconciliation Summary
- Executive Summary
With this release we'll shift this across to delivered. If there's another report you'd really like to see this on, do start a new idea and we can begin to get a sense of the interest for that as well. Thanks!

Reports - Formatting Notes over many pages
When notes run over two pages - fix formatting so that if a note runs over two pages, it automatically creates a page break so that it appears together.
I understand there are already page breaks, but it is diffcult to know as each client is different what notes are requried and and such you need to export to PDF many, many times, before the formatting is correct.
9 votesThanks for engaging and sharing details of where things could be more efficient for you when working with Xero, everyone. We believe a recent change we've released in reports should solve the pain in formatting for you, here. We've released a new in product PDF Preview, so when you're editing the layout of your reports you'll be able to update the preview and see any changes you've made to your report as it will appear when printed.
While not completely automated, this means you no longer have to export to PDF time and time again. 😊

Xero HQ - Include Partner Edition Subscriptions in export of client list
Exported Client List - Include Partner Edition Subscriptions (e.g. Ledger) in export of client list to csv file. This helps us to review our current ledger subscriptions and ensure we are not unnecessarily subscribed.
1 voteHi team, we've made a recent update to the client export to now include the Subscriber Email. You can now use this export to filter by the practice email to get a view of the subscriptions the practice is paying for.

Xero HQ - Export ALL the columns of client data in Xero HQ.
The client export only downloads the clients Name, phone number, email and business structure. It would be very handy if we could export ALL the data which should be simple given the addtional columns already exist.
It would also be helpful if you could also sort the other columns on the view screen rather than just the client names.9 votesWe're pleased to share that this change is going live! You can now export all columns of the client list ✅

Xero HQ - Chart of Account import to include system accounts
When you import a personalised chart of accounts you get stuck with the default numbers for the system accounts as it does not allow them to be included in the template. The result being the system accounts are dramatically out of order compared to our desired place for them in our personalised chart.

Xero HQ | Tax (UK) - View filing dates
Could you add the ability to track client filing dates for CT, VAT, Companies house etc all in one place?
4 votesHi team, you'll find there is now a dedicated space in Xero HQ and XPM where you can view upcoming and filed returns for all our UK tax products!
In Xero HQ or XPM, select Tax and then Tax Manager. From here you can filter down by product type, tax year and status. This should help you easily manage and stay on top of client deadlines and manage everything in one place. 🙂

Xero HQ | Clients - Sort by Trading/Legal Name & Unreconciled items
On the Xero HQ list, only certain columns have a Sort facility, it would help if
- Sort by Trading Name
- Sort by Unreconciled Transactions3 votesHi there, our product team recently released some improvements to the client list! You can now sort the client list using all the columns - including Trading/Legal name 🙌
You can merge or add clients to groups from the list page, and choose how many clients you would like to view per page.
There's a separate idea for the Ability to sort clients by "Unreconciled Items" which you can add your vote to if that's still something you'd like to see.

Xero HQ: Export more than 1000 clients
Currently when you export your Xero HQ client list it is limited to 1,000 rows. This makes the feature redundant for larger practices that have more than 1,000 clients. Please can this restriction be removed?
3 votesHey Alana, just wanted to pop in here to confirm that this is possible! The product team made some changes that enable more than 1,000 clients to be exported. I'll switch this idea over to Delivered 👍

Xero Tax (UK) - Exclude Dividends note from filleted accounts
Xero HQ Filleted Accounts without Dividend Note
There should be a facility whereby the notes to the full accounts can be edited for the filleted accounts so that not all are disclosed at Companies House, such as, & very importantly the 'Dividend' note
16 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. As part of our recent improvements to the notes & disclosures for FRS 1021a accounts, the dividends note is now included within the Directors report which isn't submitted to Companies House. We appreciate there is further work to do to maximise the flexibility here and always appreciate your feedback so please continue to add new ideas.

Xero HQ - Business Client Dashboard
Xero HQ - Business Client Dashboard
I would like a section in Xero HQ to see key metrics across my business clients in the form of a dashboard screen.
The data displayed should be almost like an 'early warning system' for practice linked business clients that are falling behind on:
- Administration (Bank rec transactions, unlodged payruns/bas forms)
- Business performance is suffering (Significant decrease in quarterly sales, High 90 day+ debtors)
- Accounts hit certain thresholds set at a client level (Bank account overdrawn, GST/PAYG/Super Liabilities over a certain threshold)
This could also be used to spot client performing really well too.
…
21 votesHi team, as you may have wind of at Xerocon or one of our recent Roadshows we've been developing client insights which has just gone live for all Partners!
You'll find this within a new Insights tab available in both Xero HQ and XPM. It provides a view of all clients in one screen with a range of valuable information to help give you a snapshot of your clients health and help you quickly identify those that need attention and those that are doing well. Read up on finer detail, and dive in to start making the most of this tool. We hope this will save you time looking and comparing data, so you can spend more time helping your clients. 😊
