Xero HQ - Business Client Dashboard
Xero HQ - Business Client Dashboard
I would like a section in Xero HQ to see key metrics across my business clients in the form of a dashboard screen.
The data displayed should be almost like an 'early warning system' for practice linked business clients that are falling behind on:
- Administration (Bank rec transactions, unlodged payruns/bas forms)
- Business performance is suffering (Significant decrease in quarterly sales, High 90 day+ debtors)
- Accounts hit certain thresholds set at a client level (Bank account overdrawn, GST/PAYG/Super Liabilities over a certain threshold)
This could also be used to spot client performing really well too.
It can be difficult to keep an eye on every client. This could provide some additional oversight.
It would be a big feature but really useful if implemented correctly
Appreciate the idea and detail you've shared on the needs here, everyone.
As many of your will know - we're developing a more unified client sync, and you can read some of the changes on our Blog
The idea here is intriguing and we'll track the interest of this through the thread here, however this isn't something we're planning to work on at present. We will share if there's any change with you here.

This would be so incredibly valuable! I would love to see client financial demographics:
- Average number of transactions per month per client
- Average time in each Xero file per month/week for all firm employees
- Percentage of Xero features utilized per client and and change in utilization -

I agree, I think this could be a powerful feature. Being able to look at key data across all clients will allow us as accountants to track and react much quicker. We can then regularly run a report within HQ to see which clients are nearing VAT registration thresholds by looking at their previous 12 month turnover levels, which clients have had big profit fluctuations, which clients have overdrawn director loan accounts, etc. At the moment we either have to go into every single client to find out that information, or go to third party app providers who can extract the Xero information for us.

Xero offers you the ability to add NON XERO Clients to Xero HQ, however it restricts the data fields for entry. It would be nice to be able to incorporate all the data fields allowable to Xero clients for NON XERO clients too, such as Financial Year End, to mention one

Running reports for multiple clients or across the whole client portfolio to identify clients requiring attention would be very helpful.
Clients P&L and Balance Sheet could be compared across the practice by using Xero Report Codes to map to a standardised chart of accounts.
This has the potential to be incredibly powerful and blow other practice management software offerings out of the water.
