  1. I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks

  2. Development of new functionality to meet the new FRS 102/105 requirements following from the FRC Periodic Review. Key changes are around income recognition to be based on delivery (known as the 5-step model), and an on-balance sheet treatment for operating leases.

  3. Currently Quotes are not able to be sent directly for e-sign acceptance (i.e. clients will need to print physical copy of quote, sign and email back unless they have access to adobe sign). It would be an improvement if quote can be sent to Xero Sign for signing and audit trail. Alternatively, it would also be great if clients can accept/decline from the quote email.

    1. The functionality to format text with bold, italics, and underlining.

    2. The ability to apply multiple highlight colours to text, as well as different font types and colours.

    3. The retention of multiple paragraphs within the 'Ask' feature is necessary. The current limitation, which merges all paragraphs of a question into a single block of text upon sending queries to clients, may lead to confusion and diminished clarity in communication.

  4. Add a next button to the managed fund distribution page in xero tax.

    When a client has 10 or 15 managed fund distributions that have imported from the pre-fill you have to go back and click on the next one and it is hard to keep track that you have reviewed every single one. (And deleted the 0's this is a separate idea)

    If there was a next button so you can just start at the top and work your way through all the distributions to review them it would make this much easier.

  5. A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.

    Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).

  6. In Xero HQ, it would be helpful if the "Manage Users" permission were optional for Admin staff—or if there were an additional permission level between "Admin" and "Standard," similar to QBO's "Standard - All Access" role where you can toggle on and off several higher permissions.

  8. We need a Trust Estimate to be included in Trust tax returns for ALL types of trusts. Xero recently added a trust estimate but it is for Deceased Estates Less Than 3 years only. This is not useful. This type of trust is a very small percentage of the trusts that our firm has.
    We need the estimate to be able to calculate -
    - Deceased Estates More Than 3 Years
    - Discretionary Trusts where there are Foreign Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there Minor Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there is no beneficiary presently entitled

  10. I log in and out of Xero dozens of times daily. the little square "Trust this device ticked" never works. Every time I need to log in, I need to go through the process again and again, email, password, authentication.
    What I found really annoying and impractical is after keying in the password, the next screen is the authenticator code, if I do not take the mouse and point out into the authentication box, the numbers keyed in goes anywhere. This should be automated as MYOB and QuickBooks, BGL360, CAS360 have and many other accounting softwares. This will save me…

  11. I faced a very time-consuming task after migrating the data from MYOB to Xero through JetConvert. Although the bank transactions were properly processed in MYOB and reconciled in the bank before conversion. The same transactions converted into Xero had an unreconciled status. The bank balances were not matching at all. I couldn't find a solution than going one by one, clicking the column "unreconciled", go to Options, click reconciled and go back to the same screen. The number of transactions were about 400 and 2000 transactions per client. I migrated 10 clients in one shot. I did not expect this…

  12. We'd like the ability to import job budgets at the time of importing new jobs. The budget field seems to be a standard field for jobs, so I see there would be no reason we can't add the budget at the same time of the import.

  13. Advisors report for queried transactions:
    Accountants/bookkeepers should be able to mark reconciled transactions (with a flag or star) and have a space to leave a comment/question. A report should then be able to be run listing all queried/flagged transactions (similar to the uncoded statement lines report). This report can then be sent to the client to answer / clients can access the report in Xero to answer.

Due to issues with staff editing recurring jobs but not updating the job name and/or description I would like to see the staff permissions for recurring jobs amended to have a dropdown list so we can limit staff access to editing recurring jobs but leave access to view, create and delete in the same way as with clients.

    Thanks for sharing and engaging with product ideas here. We appreciate the desire to run more reports in Xero in a different currency.

    To confirm what is currently available in Xero for multi currency reporting - Right now the aged reports will run in the organisation's base currency. However, for any invoice or bill that has been created in a foreign currency you'll see an icon next to that line in your report which provides notation of the exchange rate details, and these will all be listed at the bottom of the report.

    With the Payable and Receivable summary and detail reports you can add an 'Original currency' column along with other foreign exchange details.

    It's also possible to add a filter to these reports to only show invoices of a particular status for example Awaiting payment.

  18. Could xero consider reducing the size of text/fonts on the screen. I don't need super extra large enormous text to do my work. Everyone walking past or coming to speak with me can read my screen and see bank details and values, employee names and $ amount and so the list goes on. I have already asked if there can be a bland landing page so that bank accounts (Including balances) are NOT the default screen. Anyone standing nearby can see this information when Xero starts. Both of matters limit confidentiality and most users don't need this sort of exaggerated…

    Thanks for getting back to me on your needs here, Janet. I'll move the idea back to submitted as we don't have direct plans around this atm. We'll get a sense of the interest from the community here and will keep you updated if any progress is planned.

  19. There needs to be functionality to have multiple trusts or superfunds with the same name i.e. Smith Family Trust or Brown Family Superannuation Fund, as ATO does no require these to be unique, without causing issue with invoices in Blue Xero or having to change the name in XPM to differentiate and have to change the name again each time you lodge. Same name trusts and superfunds is not uncommon.
