It would be good if Xero Tax calculated the estimated PAYG instalment payable in SMSF Tax Returns as we use this to inform our clients of what amounts they are up for in the new financial year, a very important piece of information for them to consider re timing and amount of cashflow outgoings. Xero Tax does it for individuals so not sure how difficult it would be to make it apply for all entities subject to the PAYG Instalment system.

  5. A quick individual tax calculator - just requires taxable income and PAYG to be entered - and the tax, offsets and medicare is auto calculated. Tick box for resident, tax free threshold and private health.

    Handisoft has a tax calculator that does this - the estimated tax is calculated in 10 seconds. Much better and quicker than the ATO's calculators (and the ATO doesn't do current year - only prior).

  6. It would be useful to be able to file historic tax returns prior to the dates shown in Xero. I have a client who submitted his own accounts but has never submitted his own tax returns so we need to file 4 returns for him but we are only able to go back 2 years.

    Hi Natalia, just to make sure I'm sharing this back with the right team internally. Where abouts is your client based. Our Tax products for each region are developed separately for their own needs and regulations so this information will make sure I get it back to the right team to consider.

  7. We have noticed an error, where, when managed fund distributions are prefilled from the ATO, a zero is put in the Item 24 - Other Income

    This causes an error for each managed fund prefill that needs to be manually fixed by going in and deleting that entry in the schedule.

    I just recently had a client with 15+ managed fund imports (owned jointly with his wife, so same issue on her side) which meant I had to waste quite a bit of time going into each schedule, only to delete the zero at the bottom.

  9. Some supplier invoices don't have a currency on them eg USD and Hubdoc enters the base currency of the organisation eg NZD - if you could assign a currency to a supplier, it would avoid having to manually change the currency on each invoice

  12. Per the attached screenshots, it would significantly increase efficiency to be able to use quick keyboard shortcuts when entering timesheets. Specifically the + and SAVE buttons, as almost everything else can be entered using the keyboard alone.

  13. have supplier inv reference picked up in hubdoc and posted through to xero so xero can show in supplier reconciliations . so supplier canrecognise our ledger . also avoid hours trying to cross refer supplier invoice reference queries to the associated hubdoc unless obvious by date

  15. Losses carried forward have to be manually entered into XPM tax each year. It would be great if the information flowed through automatically from the tax return so that all we have to do is confirm it matches the IRD assessment. At a minimum it would be great if the losses to carry forward figure from 2023 automatically rolled forward to 2024 once it has been confirmed.

  16. We are finding staff are regularly being logged out of XPM when they move between the 'Clients' tab & the 'Jobs' tab. When this happens it asks staff to log back in, but we are finding it is taking them to random different areas of XPM instead of back to where they were. i.e Setting up a new organisation page, in the middle of a client file etc. This appears to be a basic functionality issue that needs to be fixed.

  17. In the last financial year, we made multiple and significant layout changes to the accounting schedules in our financial notes.
    Therefore, we intend to 'Copy and Edit' most of our financial reports. However, we have found that when you 'edit layout' it removes the date field codes in our numbered notes regardless of if you edit the number notes or not - therefore losing it's auto updating feature.
    As a result, we are now having to manually update the year in all of our financials, or start from scratch.
    Please make it so edit layout does not remove date fields…

  18. I have just learned that XPM does not connect to Outlook and thus Client data is not synced. I thought this would be the most important information to sync with outlook, Afterall clients are who accountants communicate with most.

  19. I love the new Job Manager view where you can hide or show columns as you need. I would LOVE a column for comments. For example say a job is waiting for a client to send a particular document I'd love to be able to add that in that view. Or maybe that field could show the latest note made in that job. It woudl save us having to click into the job to see what was holding it up.

    Hi community, thanks for your input in this idea. A comment field in Job Manager is something that our product team would like to explore, however there are other items that need their attention at this time.

    For now, we'll move this back to submitted, and will update when there are any further changes to share on this with you all, here.
