  1. When entering a number of invoices for the same customer or vendor it would be great not having to reenter the name for each entry. Recommend the ability to "pin" a name for multiple entries under the same name.

    Hi Kari, I notice you've selected Xero HQ on the category of your idea here. I just wanted to check if you're idea here is related to creating invoices in a Xero organisation or from Practice Manager? Thanks

  2. FBT Returns - I have been informed by Xero Support that FBT Returns can only be created for the following structure types:

    Individual
    Company
    Trust
    Partnership
    Self Managed Superannuation Fund

    Noting that individuals, partnerships and SMSF do not require FBT Returns it seems more prudent to make them available for the club and society structures who actually my have FBT to lodge.

  3. When drafting AIM reports in XPM, it would be helpful if you could hover over the box number and it lists the accounts that are being mapped there as opposed to changing report codes in blue Xero and continually having to update the AIM report to see if accounts are mapping correctly.

    Hi Sally, just to check when you say you'd like to freeze the header row would this be the Report settings at the top of the screen?

    Currently column headers in majority of reports are frozen so you can see these as you scroll through reports.

  5. Option to add a bit more detail if needed for a supplier (bank account and email) for the ease of then must marking straight away in Xero for payment.

  6. Companies House sync - Client Onboarding

    Would like to see a Companies House sync for this. Our current PM system has this facility and it saves so much time (and is accurate). Also used as a check when submitting annual CS01 forms. We are considering moving to XPM and this would seal the deal

  7. Would it be possible to close sections of the job that you don't use and these stay as default. (Information Tax - job details, custom fields etc.) This would make it easier to see the sections you do use. It would also be useful if you would put them in the order you prefer.

    For example to me the most important section is tasks and these are quite low down the list. I would like this to be a default setting.

  8. Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

  9. XPM has been updated recently (April 2025) and the update has removed the re-ordering of tasks function. We used the re-ordering function to put all tasks in chronological order e.g. monthly payroll tasks, VAT returns, year end accounts were all arranged in date order. Since the update all the re-ordering that we have completed on jobs have been changed and now all tasks are non-chronological and in a jumbled order. This is very frustrating. Please could Xero re-instate the ability to re-order tasks as required? These changes are a backwards step.

Maybe I'm missing something (integration settings perhaps) but if I enter a personal tax client's details into Xero HQ, then only some of this pushes into Xero Blue and I have to re-enter certain details like client code, email address etc as well as new fields such as sales defaults. Similarly, not all of the data pushes into Xero PM and the UTR/NI number have to be entered again. Is it not possible to have a Xero HQ as the single point of entry which then updates all fields in Xero PM and Xero Blue?

  11. In Xero Tax, you can enter "Any other payments or credits on account" to show what a client has already paid towards their tax bill. But you can't enter a negative figure (i.e. a refund already received for a return that is being amended) and there is nowhere to add in any outstanding tax from a previous return etc so that the payments report factors this in.

    It would be good to be able to have some additional boxes to show these please.

Given Xero's push for 'beautiful accounting' I find it very frustrating that the template report codes can't be re-ordered within their groups in the template reports and always revert to alphabetical at the client level, meaning every single client needs their custom reports formatting unnecessarily. Editing reports at every single client level for what I consider to be pretty basic formatting is really disappointing.

    The practice level report template should allow for report codes to be reordered within their groups. I don't want rent, rates and utility costs to be at the bottom of the establishment costs section because they…

Very disappointed to hear that you haven't considered how the new reporting standards for Tier 3 entities is going to effect the reporting templates i.e. the requirement to split grants into multiple sub-categories, which is only one area of the new reporting standards that needs to be expanded.
    Would you be able to make this a high priority for the product team and provide a reasonable timeframe as to when this will be considered for further development as obviously we need to meet our obligations and your reporting mapping is no longer going to make this easy for us given…

  14. A report function where we can generate a detailed Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet report in one click. It's very manual on the current set up where we generate this from Account Transaction Report. This will help us to generate a more accurate report and make our job much easier.

  15. On the Employee Contact Details report it would be great to have a column to show the termination date and reason for termination. Being able to sort by termination date range eg last quarter would be beneficial to assist with preparing the long service leave reports. The termination date and reason needs to be included in the report. Having a summary of the information from Xero would be beneficial for all.

  16. It would be good if any report you can already run in Xero could be added to a report template - this would include GST reports (activity statement and GST reconciliation), payroll reports etc. That way instead of having to manually extract each of these reports for each client we can just do it in bulk through one report template.

  17. The productivity dashboard does not have the functionality to automatically account for staff start dates. It calculates capacity for the whole year which does not work for staff commencing mid year. There's no functionality to set a historic capacity level. The workaround is to manually adjust the reporting date for the productivity dashboard to account for each staff's start date or use the Time Productivity Report as an alternative. I'd love to see this feature improvement / functionality in the future.

    Thanks for sharing your idea, Julie. Can see why you'd like this setting for staff that start mid year.

    We'll start to get an idea of the interest from the community through the idea, here.

  18. It would be great to have two additional tax return status values, to more efficiently support the typical workflows of busy tax agents.

    1. Waiting on information - return cannot progress until the client provides missing info.

    2. Rejected - return has failed review and requires adjustment before it can be lodged.

  19. When using the field [Client] Group(s) as a criteria in step 3 of report builder, you can only specify the relevant client group name in the text field. There's currently no functionality for a drop down list of client groups to select from similar to the clients field. Requesting this as an option

  20. Would it be possible to visibly see the Government Gateway currently set up for HMRC submissions for each individual client? At the moment I believe this isn't available, however it would be helpful to be able to view this information via Practice Manager
