  1. Currently, when jobs are imported using a .csv file, the job number sequence is not updated and this has to be manually update it once the jobs have been imported.

    As jobs will need to be imported in manageable batches, there is room for errors to occur if the job number sequence does not automatically update.

    Can this be something that is looked into this coming year?

    You will need to manually update it once you've imported all your jobs.

  3. There could be many possible things to be able to track in there, but I would like to be able to:

    Limit the 'states' shown to things I am directly involved with like 'For review' and 'For Invoicing'.

    My secretary would want to see states that apply to her like 'to sign'.

    Only show 'Priority level' High and Urgent (with the flick of a keystroke)

    Possibly allow some of the functionality in the 'jobs' tab or the report builder to be 'saved' in the dashboard screen like mini tables that update real time?

  4. We have an issue with our Xero clients where we ask them to reconcile their accounts and let us know once completed so we can process their BAS.

    The problem is that they never let us know so we have to go in to each client and see if they have reconciled up to the end of the prior period. This is very time consuming.

    Is there a way that on the My Xero screen, there can be a column with some kind of indicator when a month or period has been completed?

  5. Not an idea really but a bug which needs fixing.
    A lot of suppliers like FedEx for example send $0 bills which HubDoc is unable to publish to Xero as the Tax and Subtotal amounts is calculated wrongly despite the bill's Total Amount of $0.00 being correctly detected. As a result the invoice cannot be published to Xero.

  6. Xero finally added Legal Name & Business Name fields so we can actually file 1099s properly for sole proprietors that have a different legal name than the contact name. This was a critical improvement But now we have to toggle between two different contact pages because there isn't full integration between the 1099 Contact page and the main Contact page. We want to set up vendors properly from the start, get a W9 on file before our client even pays a vendor ideally (and we're not always going to use your W9 link), and so when we get that W9,…

  9. have supplier inv reference picked up in hubdoc and posted through to xero so xero can show in supplier reconciliations . so supplier canrecognise our ledger . also avoid hours trying to cross refer supplier invoice reference queries to the associated hubdoc unless obvious by date

  10. Job statuses. Is there a way that when a job moves from one status to the next, it automatically timestamps these movements. It's time consuming having to add a note of these changes.

  12. Has anyone else noticed since they made the dreaded and catastrophic changes in the contact view screen that you can't easily drag and drop attachments anymore?
    Now you have to go to the files tab first and drop it in the predefined window. You used to be able to just drag and drop anywhere in the window and it would attach.

    You also used to be able to add documents from the files section like you still can with the bills and invoices, this feature no longer exists in contacts so now you have to download the document from files…

    We appreciate hearing your feedback on the changes we're making, Fiona. We made an update to the files upload on a contacts record not long ago so you can now attach files that have been uploaded to your files library, like you could before. 


    There is a slight change as you mention where when you'd like to drag & drop a file you'll need to drag it to the box on the screen. It's not something we have plans for changing in the short term but we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this here and let you know if there are any updates. 

  13. Home page or landing page -- can you put the "go to xero" button on the left of the client's name? The new page makes it so I have to scroll so far to the right to get to those buttons, that I no longer know which client is on which line of the table. It is harder to log in and go directly to my client's books now.

  14. I have recently started switching clients to the New BAS Experience - Full BAS.
    I run the Activity Statement and export it so I can check the "Transactions by Tax Rate" and make changes.
    I have noticed that when I click back on the "Summary" tab, the report does not automatically update (it does under previous BAS experience) and there is also no "Update" or "Refresh" button.
    The only way to get the report to update is to hit the refresh on the web browser.
    This is another case of removing functionality.

  15. Opportunity to provide explanations for significant changes in balances (specifically profit and loss items):

    • It would be useful if the PNL review section of Xero Workpapers had an area to incorporate commentary on significant variances or that a balance is not material and therefore no further work on the balance has been performed.
    • This would add value in that you won't have to upload separate documents for each profit and loss line item

  16. It would be great if ALL users (ie practice staff) in Xero HQ could see all Xero files. It should be obvious on the list which are accessible and which are not (ie if you didn't have access, the Xero org name could be greyed out)

    In terms of access, if a particular staff member did not have access to a Xero file, they should be able to request access from a HQ Administrator (with mange user access of course) which can be granted easily. Would be handy to have a 'Why' comment field so the approver knows the context…

  17. I would like to do a bulk update of the supplier configurations in HubDoc to set the "Configure rules for Xero" to "off" so that we can begin our configurations from scratch. Doing it maunally for the number of suppliers we have is very time consuming so I would like to request assistance in making a bulk change.

    The automated help agrees it a good idea and suggested the following

  19. It would be great if they system would not allow disbursements/ costs to be added to closed jobs.
    This can cause a lot of admin work when Xero fees are bulk imported to our clients accounts job but is then closed once the accounts have been completed. We have too ensure the job number is updated on the import each time we close a job as the system will allow bulk uploads. It would be great if an error code showed and did not allow this to occur.

  20. Xero Tax UK. Please could you add in the option for estimated figures as well as provisional figures as they are not the same thing!

    There is a distinction between estimated figures and provisional figures on a UK SA tax return. Currently, Xero UK SA Tax only has the option for provisional figures which means that you will come back and revisit the tax return.

    We also need the option for estimated figures which are your best and final estimate so no intention to revisit the software. Other UK tax software has this!
