Xero Tax (UK) | Partnership LLP Accounts and Tax - SA800 for multi member partnerships
Partnership LLP Accounts and Tax - SA800 for multi member partnerships. Including the ability to produce individual allocation report of profit/loss for both UK members and overseas members
Hi everyone, I wanted to share a further update on this idea. We are now making active steps to deliver a solution for the SA800 and accounts production for unincorporated partnerships. In the interest of transparency, we expect to be able to provide our partners with some of the core features to start using as soon as possible, however this will not be delivered before 31 Jan 2024. We will be moving as quickly as we can whilst also ensuring we're meeting your expectations therefore we can't provide a confirmed delivery date but we will provide further updates when elements are ready for partner testing in 2024.

I now have many partnerships in my client portfolio. Partnership accounts & returns are now crucial for my practice & I will have to use other software if xero do not manage to deliver a solution. Can you please provide an update on this?

Hi @hannah G is there any more news on partnership tax returns and the roll out?

The ability for partnership tax return SA800 in Xero would be crucial for Xero being my one-stop accounting software. Look forward to an update soon!

Is there any news on when Xero will be scheduling in this piece of work? Will partnership tax return submissions within xero be included in the 2024 roadmap?

Hi Hannah, do you have any updates regarding this?

I would of thought with the cost that we are incurring that Xero would have the facility to submit partner accounts.

Xero is shown on the approved list of software providers with HMRC to file a UK partnership return. i have four clients who are affected by this and we will be foreced to find alternative software providers if this is not urgently added well in advance of the tax deadline here in the UK of January.
Poor show -

it is really annoying that Xero does not mind to take customer on, even though they are partnerships. New LLP approached me with Xero subscription already. I understand money and all, especially when organisation becomes so huge like Xero, they do not care as long as they have money floating in. I do not want to disappoint my new clients, will work something out of course, but it is not fair.

I don't understand why this is not a high priority and is not even in development yet? There is clearly a customer need and has been said already it's an obvious next step in enabling practices to be a fully efficient in using Xero as an end-to-end product. More assurance needs to be made as to whether this is even possible for 31st January or not and if not what the timescale is likely to be.

This back and forth has been happening for nearly a year, ever since I raised it. I think this should be top priority for Xero looking at the number of Partnerships in the UK.

I agree with the previous comments, we do need a timescale as it impacts on where we licence our software products.

Thank you for this update.
We do though really need to know if the ability to prepare SA800 forms will be in place by 31 January 2024, so that we can plan alternative software if required. -

Being a Xero only software practice, the need to file SA 800s is essential. It's a natural progression to preparing accounts for partnerships and seems a huge gap in Xero considering we have company accounts preparation and sole traders. When will we have partnerships?
-
Steven Haugh commented
If we can't file SA800 partnership returns through Xero we will have to move our practice away from Xero
-
Anthony Brice commented
This needs to happen otherwise it means subscibing to 2 different softwares.

We are having to continue subscribing to another software purely for filing partnership returns SA800, which is frustrating. Especially as the Partnership page can be included in the SA100. Doesn't make sense why this hasn't been followed through to completion.

We have a partnership and a trust so if we move fully to Xero for our SA filings we will still need to pay for other software to do these, if would be good if we could do all our filings through Xero as we ideally only want to use the one system.

I would like the ability to run business tax computations for partnerships. At the minute, Xero Tax only allows this for individuals.

Didn't Xero say they were aiming for an end to end product? Partnerships are really a big deal these days, more and more businesses are being set up this way so it is needed for end to end effectiveness. I am sure Matt is not the only one with most clients being partnerships.
