Hi everyone, thanks for your interest in this idea. Although we haven't enabled the option to exclude a balance sheet from sole trader accounts within Xero HQ we wanted to share this very exciting update with you. We recently released a direct import of the P&L from Xero onto the self-employment worksheet within Personal Tax, without the need to map the account codes and generate a set of sole trader accounts.
Previously we only supported an import from Sole Trader Accounts to Personal Tax which for some of our partners involved an extra step, particularly for smaller clients who typically only receive Income & Expenditure accounts. We hope by adding this functionality that you will be able to maximise the more flexible reporting capabilities within Xero to produce accounts for sole traders. I have been advised by my account manager that partnership returns are in the second 'beta testing' phase at the moment and that they will be ready for launching in the summer time (by August 2024 at the latest). I do hope this is the case, as I now have a lot of clients who are partnerships.

Can you please let your xero partners have an update on when SA800 partnership returns will be enabled within xero for submission to HMRC?

I now have many partnerships in my client portfolio. Partnership accounts & returns are now crucial for my practice & I will have to use other software if xero do not manage to deliver a solution. Can you please provide an update on this?

Is there any news on when Xero will be scheduling in this piece of work? Will partnership tax return submissions within xero be included in the 2024 roadmap?

While we don't have immediate plans for enabling the ability to produce a computation for the current tax year, we're keen to continue gathering support and understand the interest from the community in this idea. We'll let you know if there are any updates around this, here.

Thanks for your comment Kiala, I think it would be easy enough for the xero team to change this wording to "click to review & sign" rather than "click to sign" so I hope this can be actioned very soon.
