    Our product team are undergoing a big piece of work to create a single client record which sounds like it solves your ask here. It's is a single database that exists behind your practice tools and houses your client data across Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Tax and Xero HQ. You can use XPM to maintain your client information, while unlocking the value of Xero HQ when managing client organisations and staff access. This article has more information about it.

  2. Xero HQ - Business Client Dashboard

    I would like a section in Xero HQ to see key metrics across my business clients in the form of a dashboard screen.

    The data displayed should be almost like an 'early warning system' for practice linked business clients that are falling behind on:

    • Administration (Bank rec transactions, unlodged payruns/bas forms)
    • Business performance is suffering (Significant decrease in quarterly sales, High 90 day+ debtors)
    • Accounts hit certain thresholds set at a client level (Bank account overdrawn, GST/PAYG/Super Liabilities over a certain threshold)

    This could also be used to spot client performing really well too.

    Hi team, as you may have wind of at Xerocon or one of our recent Roadshows we've been developing client insights which has just gone live for all Partners!

    You'll find this within a new Insights tab available in both Xero HQ and XPM. It provides a view of all clients in one screen with a range of valuable information to help give you a snapshot of your clients health and help you quickly identify those that need attention and those that are doing well. Read up on finer detail, and dive in to start making the most of this tool. We hope this will save you time looking and comparing data, so you can spend more time helping your clients. 😊

  3. Automate Bill Entry
    When emailing bills to Xero could we have every line imported instead of just one lump sum? I use different accounts for different billed items. Having this feature would save me a lot of time typing!

    This is actually already possible in our Australian payroll product.


    You can find a history of changes to the employee's leave tab, including updates to their opening balances in the 'Payroll History' section at the bottom of the page.


    Our Xero Central article has more information on that, and the other fields tracked by Payroll History. 


  5. On the Xero HQ list, only certain columns have a Sort facility, it would help if
    - Sort by Trading Name
    - Sort by Unreconciled Transactions

    Hi there, our product team recently released some improvements to the client list! You can now sort the client list using all the columns - including Trading/Legal name 🙌

    You can merge or add clients to groups from the list page, and choose how many clients you would like to view per page. 

    There's a separate idea for the Ability to sort clients by "Unreconciled Items" which you can add your vote to if that's still something you'd like to see.

  6. Currently when you export your Xero HQ client list it is limited to 1,000 rows. This makes the feature redundant for larger practices that have more than 1,000 clients. Please can this restriction be removed?

    Hey Alana, just wanted to pop in here to confirm that this is possible! The product team made some changes that enable more than 1,000 clients to be exported. I'll switch this idea over to Delivered 👍

  7. Document packs are currently sorted in order of sent. This can make it hard to track ones that are newly completed (for filing purposes). This is because a newly completed pack could be anywhere in the list. Being able to sort in order of completed would help.

    Hi Andy👋, happy to share that the team have just released another improvement to the sort for Document Packs and you'll find from today you can now sort by Date Completed!

    Jump on in for a try - this should help you stay on top of those packs most recently completed 😊

  8. Quotes: At present the only way i can print a quote is by sending it to myself on an email. Could you please give an option to print a quotation to pdf

  9. I was told on a recent Xero training course that I could use "Ask" to send queries to clients - even those not on Xero. However, having just spent a considerable amount of time setting up a lot of new templates for requesting self assessment evidence from clients I have now found out that you can't use it for individuals who are not on Xero. Perhaps this could be something which could be looked at in the future? I have a number of individual clients who need self assessments but don't require Xero and it would certainly be a bonus…

    Hi Leah 👋 great to hear you've been through some of the training!

    You can send Xero HQ Ask queries to non-Xero clients, however you'll just need to add them as a client in Xero HQ so they can receive the notification.


    On your clients end, they can create a Xero login to access and respond to your queries through Ask, without needing to add an organisation.

  10. The Document Packs needs a delete and resend function.

    The delete function is necessary when client cannot open a document sitting in their Xero portal. The client can't delete it. We can't delete it. If we could jump into Document Packs and delete and/or resend, just like we do in Xero Tax, it would save a lot of time and frustration for both accountant and client.

    The resend function is also necessary when a client doesn't receive the email asking them to sign a document. The work around whereby we have to phone the client and walk them through logging…
