  1. Currently when using the new reports, bookmarking a page in Xero will take us to the specific organisation that the bookmarked screen was in.

But when using the old reports, bookmarking a page in Xero for example Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022, when i click on the bookmark link it will bring me to the Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022 for whichever organisation i am working on. This makes it easy when i'm looking at multiple entities.

Since Xero is phasing out the old reports, can you please bring this feature into the new report?

    Hey community,

Thanks for all your feedback on this idea.

As you’ve found, users could bookmark reports and that bookmark would work across organisations. However, this caused some strange behaviour when navigating between organisations in bookmarked reports.

By including a unique Organisation ID in the the new report URLs, the data displayed is consistent with the organisation the report was bookmarked in. The result is that users can navigate away from a bookmarked report, without Xero updating the organisation.

To be transparent here, this was a deliberate change, and there are no plans to re-implement book-markable links to reports.

  2. Would like the ability to be able to view all clients on screen in Xero HQ for the purposes of merging duplicates as being able to click the 'Show more clients' means it's difficult to navigate where there is a trading name and legal name in different parts of the list.

    Hi community,

Our product team recently made significant improvements to the client list! 🥳

You can now choose how many clients to show per page, making it easier to see many more clients. You can now also sort your client list using many more columns. Previously the only column you could sort by is client name but now you can hover over all the columns (organisation name, email address, phone number, business number, subscription type, industry classification, connected banks, financial year, Bank feed deprecation) on the client list and sort.

Finally, you can also merge or add clients to groups from the list page.

The product team don't have any plans to enable the ability to view all clients on one screen which is why we're shifting this to 'not planned' but we believe that these combined changes will provide a better navigation experience.

Hi team, rounding back after engaging with our product team on this. The maximum size upload of a document is set based on the technology we're using for Document Packs (Adobe). At this time there really isn't anything we could do to expand this and will close the idea here to set expectation. Thanks for your engagement.

  4. It would be helpful to some clients if I was able to upload a photo of their signature for them so they can use that for Xero Sign. It would make it easier for the clients who are not so tech savy.

Thanks for raising as an idea, Rachel. Appreciate there can be learning involved in adopting tech like this. First checking with our product team in this space, I do want to confirm that this isn't something we're looking to develop for - For an e-signature to be legally binding this needs to be done by the signer themselves.

However, from within the portal there are a range of ways the signer can add their signature, one of these is uploading a picture of their signature. This means the image then becomes part of the adobe backed, legally binding e-signature rather than just an image of the signature.

  5. With various data breaches being carried out at present, a client has asked if superannuation fund details can be hidden on pay slips. Similar to a bank account where only a few digits are shown & rest are xxxx.

    Hi Brett 👋

Thanks for sharing your suggestion, and appreciate that you're looking out for your employee's personal data!

There are certain super details that do need to be included on a payslip, and you can read more about them here.

Because Fund name and / or fund number is a required field, we'll shift this to not planned.

  6. We have staff on Annual Salaries, but have to pay them as "hours worked". This is not technically correct, as some weeks they work more than other weeks. Their annual leave and personal leave are based on a 38 hr week, but showing their working week as 38 hours is incorrect. Any way we can remove the "hours" on the payslips?

Hey Diane, thanks for submitting this idea 😊

Currently in Xero, when an employee is set to an 'Hourly Rate' earnings type, it is not possible to remove the hourly.  from the payslip.

This is in keeping with HMRC advice, that a payslip must display the number of hours, if pay varies depending on time worked. You can read more about that here.

However, if an employee is set to 'Annual Salary' earnings type, they won't see an hourly total on their payslip.

  7. Be able to see payment gateways on HQ explorer. For example - see ALL clients who are using Stripe gateway.

Hi everyone, as you may have received recent communication of we’ve made the hard but crucial decision to retire Explorer in Xero HQ from April 12, 2023.

With this change, ideas that are also directly related to the Explorer tab will no longer be considered. We appreciate your inputs to the forums here and if there's somewhere else within Xero HQ this information would be of value we welcome you to start a new idea for this in Xero Product Ideas.

Once removed, you’ll still have access to the below information:

    • For industry information, open the Xero HQ client list. Click on 'Customise Columns' and select 'Industry classification' so you can see it as a column in your client list.
    • For banking information, open the Xero HQ client list. Click on 'Customise Columns' and select 'Connected Banks' so you can see it as a column in your client list.
    • For…
  8. We love the idea of linking our Outlook 365 emails to Contacts in our practice Xero but I can't see my colleagues emails and she can't see mine unless we add them to the clients activity. At the moment, we will have to add each email one at a time. The ability to "bulk add" to activity would be a game changer as my other team members would be able to share their emails with us too.

Sorry no one's updated on the idea here sooner. With low partner usage and the big investment required for upkeep, we retired this integration from March 2022.

The app was removed from Outlook meaning you can no longer save emails against client records in Xero HQ.

There are alternative ways of saving emails against client records, which you may want to explore in the Xero App Store
