Xero Tax(AU) | Reporting - Client Tax return month and status criteria
Dear Support, it would be very handy to have a report so that we can ascertain the status of a clients AS. I know that there is the visual on the status bar. But if you do not have the AS an automated process, for workflow purposes, it would be good to know that is a client is scheduled to has an AS completed, that in fact, this has been completed in the workflow. Additionally for tax returns, a report that reads the status of the return, either commence in progress, not started etc. The ato reports only gives a…

Xero Tax (UK) | Audit Report Inclusion
We have a number of sets of accounts that have been prepared under FRS102 1A but do still require an audit in the UK as the group as a whole exceeds more than 2 of the thresholds. There is currently no way to simply toggle on an auditors report, with additional free type text fields to file these via Xero Tax, which would be nice to be able to do and save us requiring another piece of software altogether for these clients.

MTD for ITSA
MTD for ITSA
Xero have been a bit quiet on the issue of MTD for ITSA. What is the suggested solution for ITSA? If the Xero plan is to charge the starter plan at £14/month (plus VAT) I think you will lose a lot of the market share. MTD for ITSA needs a simple £5/month solution for sole traders with ability to use expenses app for free. The costs of £14/month plus £2.50 for expenses is going to lose a lot of our clients to competitors like FreeAgent (which is free if you have an RBS/Natwest/Mettle account). Finding it hard…3 votesThanks for your feedback, John - It'd be great to get you to join one of our demo webinars to see our MTD for ITSA product. They run every few weeks and you can sign up here.
Alternatively, reach out to your account manager who can help set that up. If you like the look of the solution you can start testing it with clients now, by joining the beta programme.
In terms of Xero plans, MTD for ITSA will be available on every plan. This means it'll be available on all business plans - Starter, Standard, Premium, but also all partner plans - Ledger, Cashbooks, Bureau, etc.
Clients may also be interested in the new app Xero Go, a simple business tracking and data capture tool, which links to a Xero partner plan so you can see the data and manage ITSA filings.

AU Tax - Running balance available in Xero Tax to check amt payable
It would be great to be able to see the balance owing once the BAS is submitted....have a client in credit and had to log on to my OSFA portal to check the running balance to let them know whether they had to make a payment yet. Would be great to get this data into Xero tax somehow. Anything that avoids us having to use the ATO portal is a great move

AU Tax - Import dividend and shareholder details
For PSAR, you can import an empdupe file to populate everyone's PSAR information (address, tfn, dob, name, etc.)
We want a similar function using csv import for company tax return when importing the shareholder details whom received dividends from the company in question. It was painful to manually enter 27 shareholder details and their divdiend payment through your company tax return schedule.

Personal Tax (UK) | Xero Payroll Integration
When completing employment earnings and benefits from Xero Payroll into Xero Tax, it would be really useful to have the two linked. This reduces repetitive tasks and reduces input error.
8 votesHi Michelle - thank you for raising. We can definitely see how this would help. I've checked with our Product team and this is something that is not currently on our immediate roadmap. However, we will continue to monitor this. In the meantime, we are in the process of adding integration with HMRC to pull employment data for all individuals.

AU Tax | Email templates - Ability to rename
I would like to know if it is possible to rename email templates that are used when sending returns or Activity Statements Out for Signature. eg: from 'Custom 1' to a more useful name
4 votesHi Lauren, this isn't possible at present. Thanks for starting the idea here where we can start to gather interest in others that'd like to see this too 🙂

Xero Tax: Change default account code for Corporation Tax charge
When posting the CT charge for the year, Xero Tax defaults to the 500 code in Xero. Not all our clients use this. Is there a way of reverting to the blank accounts codes so we can change this per client? Thanks

Xero Tax: Ability to undo field labeled as "edited"
When preparing personal tax return on Xero, I accidentally edited the field "Your spouse's assessable income" in Spouse tab and now it's labeled as "edited"
It could be great if I can undo the 'edit' so the field can automatically generate data from spouse's return like how it was

AU Tax - New client's information are automatically filled for tax return
It would be very helpful that when a new Tax Return for a new Client is created that the Clients mobile numbers and emails are put in by default and we have the option to set a default for the Clients bank details & postal address to always be selected.
I know that the information carries on from the previous year regarding the address and bank details but if the information is supplied on the new client profile before the Tax Return is created it should automatically select the Clients Information.5 votes -
UK Tax - Group Company Structure (Consolidated Accounting)
Is consolidation of company group structures - parent & subsidiaries - involving holding companies , inter-company transactions , on the tax filing roadmap for development?
If so, would this also include VAT group filings?Reviving this topic again as I've gone into Property and wanted to implement a group structure, how does Xero best deal with this structure interacting with subsidiaries within the group structure and for the purpose of consolidated accounts? Is Xero Tax also enabled for filing group company accounts?

AU Tax | View history based on date document pack reminders sent
Document Packs when resent do not update the "History" in Xero Tax. This means that the most recent reminder in Xero Tax can actually be much more older than that from the Xero Document Pack
Would be good to see the history in Xero tax use the dates from the reminders sent in the document pack instead of having to leave Xero tax to find out.

AU Tax - Option to hide TFN on printed CURNN form
AU Tax - Printing Return Not Necessary tax returns
Currently Xero tax can print tax returns by withholding the TFN Numbers which is really good. However, if that same functionality can be added to CURNN- Return Not Necessary would be great.

NZ Tax - Keep the sorting order
Where the notices are the same screen. It would be helpful if it held your sorting order. When you click on a date to accept the assessment, when you return to the list it is back in date order. I'd like to keep it in client name order.

Xero Tax (AU) - Colour code variances
Currently all ITR Notices of Assessment that come to Xero Tax with a variance are marked with an orange dollar sign ($).
It would help with variance investigation and client contact if the variances were colour coded so that positive variances (those that increase a refund or decrease a payable) are in a blue $, while negative variances (those that decrease a refund or increase a payable) are in the orange $. I would suggest green, but green is often used for 'this has been assessed and confirmed' so blue is a good compromise.
This will give a visual indication…
