Hi community, we acknowledge the strong feelings in this idea and why you need a feature to flag bills directly within Xero. We really appreciate all your feedback and the detailed explanations of how this would help streamline your accounts payable.

We are dedicated to providing a solution for this over the longer term, but this will take some time requiring changes that sit beneath the face of bills.

In lieu of a direct feature for this we wanted to highlight some of the options discussed by the community here:

    • Add a note to the bill: A detailed note on the bill itself can serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
    • Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Bills" can help you filter and report on these items.
    • Adjust the due date: Temporarily extending the due date can prevent accidental payment while the dispute is…

Basic functionality that Xero is missing - results in increased complexity (having to keep invoice in draft or awaiting approval and then remember these can't be approved, or have approved and remember not to pay) and increases the liklihood of losses if these bills are accidentally paid.

Hi everyone, while we don't have a direct report for this, some changes we've made to History & Notes in Xero will help in achieving what you're in need of here.

You can run the History & Notes, filtering by Type = Contact and typing 'Bank account number' in the Search to just view results for this action.

If needed you'll be able to export your results to PDF or Excel.

Though the contact name doesn't show on screen, you can right click on the Contact in the report to open the contact's record in a new browser tab, that allows you to inspect details without navigating away from your History & Notes results.

Hello everyone, we appreciate all the support here and understand how being able to import and export bank rules would help with clean up, and save time in updating or adding bank rules.

The idea has been closely considered, however we want to be transparent that building this specific feature is not on our roadmap.

Our current focus within bank reconciliation is on delivering more automation and intelligent tools to help you reconcile faster. This includes improving the core functionality of how Xero suggests and matches transactions, ultimately aiming to reduce the need for manual rule creation and management.

We're confident that these broader improvements will help streamline your workflow and address some of the underlying pain points you've raised. We appreciate your passion and feedback on this topic, and you can stay up to date with what's coming for bank reconciliation and other features on The Long and Short

    Yes!

Really hard to keep a tidy Chart of Accounts when you can't archive accounts no longer used because there is a bank rule against it, but you can't find which rule to edit/delete without opening every single one!
