Bills - Option to customise or turn off "Duplicate Bill" review messages
The periodical message that highlights "duplicate bills" and invariably just list recurring monthly bills from suppliers is incredibly annoying and simply wastes time.
There should be an option to disable it. If users genuinely find it useful they could then of course utilise it, but for those of us who don't the ability to switch off would be beneficial.

While we don't have any immediate changes planned for this, our team will consider improvements to this model overtime.
For the time being we'll continue to keep our eyes on the support for this in community, here. I'll share if there is any news.

Batch payments - Ability to include credit notes
Allow the inclusion of Credit Notes in Batch Payments where the total to be paid to a supplier is still positive. This would allow a single batch for a Supplier to match their Statement, particularly where credit notes are not related to specific Bills.
864 votesHi everyone, our product teams are continuously reviewing and reprioritising their roadmaps for future work and although we don’t have any plans to change the credit application process this year, this is something we will investigate more closely in 2026.
As we begin to explore work for enabling credit notes in the bill payments flow, we’ll reach out for input to help us shape the design and approach so we cater for the widest possible requirements. Thank you all, and we’ll be back to share when exploration starts.

We are dedicated to providing a solution for this over the longer term, but this will take some time requiring changes that sit beneath the face of bills.
In lieu of a direct feature for this we wanted to highlight some of the options discussed by the community here:
- Add a note to the bill: A detailed note on the bill itself can serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
- Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Bills" can help you filter and report on these items.

Bills - Option to unapprove
Bills: unapprove option
Have the option to unapprove a bill so it can revert back to draft/awaiting approval rather than having to void a bill and re-enter it.
624 votesHi team, thanks for staying engaged with us here. From your feedback our product teams clearly understand there are legitimate use cases and scenarios in which you’d like to be able to simply unapprove a bill.
While seemingly simple there is a bit of underlying work that needs to be done within Bills to enable us to build this functionality - As you’ll have experienced within the Bills list view - we’re in the process of uplifting the pages in Bills with updated technology that’ll unlock our ability to develop features like unapprove.
So, while it’s not in our roadmap atm, we’re tuned in here and will continue to assess how we may solve this as we plan our future roadmap. I’ll make sure to share any progress with everyone here.

Bills - Pay Bill electronically from within Xero
Ability to automatically pay supplier bills from within Xero, withouth having to login to online banking.
Purpose: To make it easier to pay bills, rather than having to jump between two different platforms.

Powered by Melio, you can securely pay bills online, directly from Xero.
As previously shared in the UK customers can now pay overseas suppliers easier with international bill payments, saving the need to use multiple platforms and savings in fees. Whether you're paying a single bill or multiple bills at once.

Products & Services - Ability to show/hide the 'Cost Price' column
Suggestion: enable the 'Columns' feature that is available in the customer activity list to more parts of Xero. I would like to be able to hide the 'Cost Price' column from Products & Services on the front-of-house system so it's not visible to customers when we are doing a price check.
5 votesHey team, thanks for your support on this idea and apologies we haven't updated sooner. There is now a columns option on the Products & services list view - While Cost price will be shown as a default you can click the Columns button in the top right of the list to deselect this from appearing.
We appreciate further feedback here on how this currently resets. This is something our product team intend to work on and I'll share further communication here once this is updated. 🙂

Remittance - Select & send from Account Transactions screen
It would be great to have the ability to have a ‘send remittance advice’ button under the accounts transactions page of the bank accounts to easily tick the payments you want to send a remittance advice of to suppliers. Perhaps next to the ‘remove & redo’ button. This will save a lot of time having to go into a payment transaction. I know that the remittance advices can be send for bulk payments but this needs to be done before the payment is removed if various suppliers are paid in the same batch. The same option can perhaps be added…

We’ve reviewed this idea and agree it’s a valuable one. It’s not something on the current roadmap right now, but it’s an area the team would like to explore in the future.
In the meantime, we’d love to hear more about how this would help in your day-to-day work. The more examples and votes we have, the better we can understand what matters most when we start looking into it. Thanks again for all your input and continued feedback!

Billable Expenses - Show Bills that have and haven't been assigned as billable expenses
To have a list that shows bills that have and haven’t been assigned to billable expenses.
Purpose: Users can easily identify which bills that have and haven’t been assigned to billable expenses.
165 votesHi everyone, thanks for your contributions to this idea. We appreciate your feedback about the challenges in ensuring all billable costs are recovered, and your desire for an improved experience.
As noted by others in the idea, there are some features that will give some visibility of billable expenses at present.
- You can 'View bills not assigned to projects', and
- there is the Outstanding billable expense report as some have shared which shows outstanding items you've assigned as billable to customers
Understanding the value more visibility of unassigned bills would have for customers, this is something we’ll continue to review in future planning but isn’t in the current roadmap. We'll be sure to update you all if this gets picked up.

Inventory - Add default tracking options to items
Adding default tracking option for inventory items in Xero.
Purpose: To make users don't have to think about or forget to add the correct tracking.
92 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your detailed feedback on how default tracking options for inventory items would improve your use of Xero. Atm, it’s possible to set default tracking on a Contact, however do understand why this isn’t suitable for all of you.
At this stage there’s no set plans to develop tracking in Xero inventory.
This is something we may consider in the longer term and we’ll continue to monitor votes and your feedback. We’ll update here if there’s any progress.
