Allow minimum stock levels and show on report to assist with re-ordering

Couldn't agree more, we've wanted this feature for some years and would welcome its implementation.

I agree, having a feature when setting up product codes (for tracked items) where you set a minimum stock level would be incredibly useful and should be a priority.

There should be a feature when setting up product codes (for tracked items) where you set a minimum stock level. They have this is sage - you can then click on stock lists and anything below the level is in red. This helped with managing stock levels, especially when you stock such a vast range. Really should be a priority.

This feature would be SUPER USEFUL to our company, we have long lead times for re-ordering and because we have such a large product range it is a big manual undertaking to check this otherwise. Xero beats Sage on most things, but on this, I'm afraid, Sage is better as it does have this feature.

Against each item of stock have the facility to list what the minimum stock level should be. Items that fall below the stock levels can be populated on a report. On Sage, you could access your stock list and any items that had fallen below the required amount were in red. If you have hundreds of lines it isn't easy to see what needs ordering and staff who process the orders don't necessarily know what critical levels are.

A huge proportion of businesses would make use of this feature by stipulating minimum stock levels that trigger an alert when breeched. The ideal scenario would be an additional dashboard widget showing only 'low stock items' (when they occur), however just highlighting the relevant line in red when the stock level falls below the specified level, would be sufficient for most businesses. A quick glance down your products list and you'd be able to see which products need to be re-ordered.

One of the basic requirements that is missing. We all obviously know that you cannot process an Invoice unless tracked stock is available - why not highlight the item concerned rather than a blanket statement that something is wrong? Where are the minimum and re-order levels? Where is the 'Print a Re-order Report' option?
Just one of a small handful of very easily altered issues and missing components that would take the system to the next level, and replace the need for a separate production management system.
Badly thought out - you really need to be speaking directly to some of your customers rather than relying on us moaning on platforms such as this. Just because you call it a 'duck' doesn't mean it's a duck - it's large, grey, has a trunk and eats sticky buns, it's an elephant. We all call it an elephant. Just because you call it a duck doesn't mean it's a duck. Not the greatest analogy, admittedly, but it gets the point across.
Just because you say Xero is suitable for this, that and the next, quite simple, it isn't.

This is a highly important factor, please can you get this function added on Xero.

I can't believe this function isn't already there, it's basic, we were just looking for exactly this. There are so many basic reports missing from Xero.

This would be a great feature to add to Xero. I am currently searching for a third party software just to have this functionality.

Please add this feature to Xero to make ordering stock in a timely manner easier for businesses with a large variety of stock to manage.

100% need the stock alert cause we don't have enough staff to monitor the inventory report all the time. We already lost some customers because the items are "Out of stock"

It is imperative the minimum quantity as well as typical quantity can be set. What a minimum quantity is reaches an email or notification needs to be sent in order to ensure that our business runs smoothly. This is available in QuickBooks and surely needs to be available in Zero

This would seriously upgrade the inventory functionality of Xero. An automatic email each Monday would help set the production direction for the upcoming week.

I got this notification from Zoho Books Standard Plan every time my set warning quantity is reached:

"The stock in your organization The Print Minister has reached the reorder point."

If Zoho Books can do this, why can't Xero do this even better?

Product sync with data feeds with save me so much time and money because I could get rid of the third-party software I have to do this.

If stock levels were shown in a pop up window when a figure is entered in the quantity column on Invoices / Quotes it would be really helpful. It shows when you are typing a credit note so it must be possible - can't think of why it's usual to have in Credit notes but not on Invoices / Quotations?
