    Hi everyone, some time on since my last update I wanted to give you more of an idea of the work we have going on to help reduce the number of steps and actions in new invoicing. Along with the changes mentioned in my last update, we've since released a change to the view of an invoice to shift details back into their own columns (similar to classic), while a small change we know it's improved visibility for some of our customers.

    We also have other work in development atm that’ll further help here like a new line item grid when editing your invoice - wrapped up in this we’ll be introducing changes you’ve been asking for like the ability to create a new tracking option or account code without having to navigate away from the invoice, we’re increasing the number of items that you can view from the drop…

    @Kelly Munro - when will these updates be implemented? I tried new invoicing again today and the date picking hasn't been changed yet. At this point I cannot even fathom the amount of time entering hundreds of invoices is going to take me with the new invoicing. It is clunky and slow (it doesn't register my code input as quickly as the classic, there is a few second lag so I am constantly getting a pop up box for New Item on a code that already exists because I'm moving faster than your new invoicing can keep up). See attached screenshot. New Invoicing does not respond quickly, it isn't showing me a preview of my invoice on the odd occassion I hit approve and send (and don't get me started on approve and send being the default and at the top right instead of the bottom). This is a major issue for us. I had hope it would be fixed in time for the roll out but we're 20 days away and nothing has changed.

    Hi everyone, thank you for your feedback on this here. Through testing we found that majority of our customers would Approve and email an invoice at once, which is why this was developed as the default in new invoicing. That said we appreciate others would like a different action as their primary option.

    While we don't have direct plans for adding the ability to set a default for this action, we're listening to your feedback and looking into how we can improve efficiency and speed things up for you when using new invoicing through the use of keyboard shortcuts. We'll share more news when we've confirmed what this shortcut looks like and are closer to providing this to you all.

    Hi everyone, as another step toward improving history of new invoicing you'll find you'll now see an entry when an invoice is sent, and the email address it has been sent to. 

    We appreciate this is something we've heard a fair amount of feedback on and we hope helps in your journey to using new invoicing. 

    We still have more enhancements on the way for history and I'll be back again when more updates land.

    This has NOT been fixed. From the new invoicing layout, when you resend an invoice to a different email address (which often happens when a business will email or phone and request it to be resent to a different email address or if it needed to be altered and resent) it just shows in the history as Edited and 'invoice updated' and doesn't show a history of having been emailed and where to. Being able to prove something was emailed and a history of where it was emailed is critical!

    Hi everyone, to keep you updated on this idea work in this space will provide the ability to add a new blank row to your invoice one at a time. Once added you'll also have the ability to drag and drop the row to where you'd like it placed in your invoice, which we know some customers use to help format their invoices and space lines out.  

    I appreciate that some customers have mentioned wanting to add multiple blank rows at once, and want to be open that this isn't planned with this release.

    Being under development atm, we plan to have this to you all before classic invoicing is retired and I'll be back as soon as it's out to let you know, here.

    Hi team, while we don't have immediate plans to change the placement of buttons on new invoicing we're interested in staying close to this feedback and I'll move the idea to Under review for the time being. We'll return to confirm any outcomes.

    Hi team, I know it's been a while since my last update and we'd like to confirm that our team are working to address your concerns, here. We'll be providing quicker access to the calendar picker for both the invoice due and issue dates. Work's underway atm and we plan to have this released to you all before classic invoicing retirement. I'll swing back again as soon as it's ready 🙂

    Yes, when you are entering hundreds of invoices per month, that extra step of having to click then select and click again is a real pain. Many small businesses are not entering invoices on the day and especially not a day in advance, they're often being put aside to enter at a later date. What is the point of that today or tomorrow feature? We should be able to just click and get the calendar month as per the old version, if it's for that day then it's already set and we don't have to click at all anyway!

    Thanks to everyone that participated in and shared back on the team’s research in the new invoicing layout. Taking your feedback on board our teams have made some improvements to the layout of new invoicing, including changes to the layout of fields and buttons.
    By rearranging and condensing space between fields, you’ll find there is less white space than previously shown, making it easier to navigate and tab through fields when entering your invoices.

    We’re actively looking into changes within the invoicing grid that’ll go further to condensing information on the screen and reducing actions when entering your invoices. We’ll update as there is more information to share on this.
