Invoices/Bills - Sorting Invoice number to be sequential
Invoice numbers to be sorted in sequential order so when you get past 9999 the invoices going to 10000 upwards don't then end up at the bottom of the list and out of order.

Need this fixed asap!

How is this a thing? Seems so basic haha

I can't see how this has not been resolved yet with this problem raised over two years ago. So many other (often unused features) have been introduced but this one can't be fixed ??

David Frith commented
It seems ridiculous that this has not been resolved yet, the suggested work around is not ideal. Looking thorough invoices is now going to be slow and inefficient.

Please change the sorting of invoices to numerical order! Hopefully a simple fix ?

Our bills are numbered ABC123 etc
When sorting in ascending order, it shows ABC4300 before ABC440, for example, which is very annoying and impossible to manage. -

Since reaching invoice 9999, we can no longer see new invoices raised and have to search back pages to try to find them. This is really unhelpful, surely as an accounting package invoices should be shown numerically.

A huge disadvantage to a lot of client who are now reaching the 10,000 invoice mark. This should be a simple fix in order to sort numerically which is what we need to see as accountants and bookkeepers. How it is that it can sort numerically up to 9999 and then it can't? Surely this is a priority to fix

Karen Kazakos commented
Please fix this. An accounting system should have the function to sort numerically.

Simon Dodge commented
it's ridiculous that the invoices are not listed numerically after 9999. please fix this!!!!!

Annie McCobb commented
I cannot believe that an accounting system actually orders invoices as a text field and not a number. This is crazy. You could at least give people the option of sorting them numerically.
-
Marie Trott commented
The option of storing the invoice number as a "number" as opposed to "text" would be a helpful update to xero.
-
Jacquie Kennedy commented
Fix this please. It should obvious for an accounting package to have numbers sorted in numerical order.
Sorting by date instead, as recommended by Xero support, and they are still out of order.
Not logical at all Xero.....very frustrating!
-
John McGovern commented
Yes have clicked "number" Geoff.
Lots of other spread sheets do it, Xero annoy me trying to tell me how to get "around" it. I don't want it any other way when I know it can be done. -
Geoff Schmidt commented
I presume that you have clicked on the "Number" heading on the invoices screen to sort ascending or descending, and this doesn't do what you need it to?
-
John McGovern commented
On the invoices window I need the invoices to ascending or descending numerically, its logical.
