    Hi community, thank you for your engagement and sharing how you'd like us to evolve roles for customers using Xero. User roles impact all areas of the product, there are many considerations we must factor in when assessing how to solve for majority of our customers needs - As you can see there is a large range of ideas for different roles shared by customers in Product Ideas.
    We’re conducting research on the current landscape and how we might approach some of the most predominant needs in roles for our customers. To be upfront, the discovery of this work will be long running and there'll be multiple phases of research and forms of engagement with users that’ll help shape the path ahead in this space.

    I too would like to have the ability to group individual expense lines into one expense claim.

    I would then have a single bill to pay (an expense claim with multiple lines) appear in my Bills to pay, rather than one for each line.

    It would also make entering/approving expenses easier for both the claimant and the Approver.

    We currently use Webexpenses and it is really good but since we now had expenses as part of Xero I thought I would see if it could work for us but sadly not at the moment.

    Thanks for the support for this idea from everyone here. We appreciate our customers' needs for more controls in reports access, and being able to safeguard sensitive data while still empowering your team with the information they need.

    The good news is reporting is one of the primary areas that we’re looking to develop, and we’re working on a solution that’ll give you more flexibility within the Invoice only role by providing access to Sales & Purchases reports.

    As we continue to make headway with this, we’ll be back to share more updates with you all.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate all the valuable feedback we’ve received from everyone on this idea and through research our team has conducted.

    We’ve taken this all into serious consideration as we plan improvements for the large scope of roles that we know are critical to our customers being able to effectively run their businesses with Xero.

    We totally get the need for more granular roles and control within reports, and understand the need to safeguard sensitive data while still empowering your team and clients with the information they require.

    Although not accessible within Xero, there are some role capabilities through Syft Analytics as an additional offering where a Xero organisation can connect to Syft.

    We want you to know that reporting is one of the primary areas that we’re looking to develop, and are working on a solution that’ll give you more flexibility and control over what reports your users…
