Hi TJ, thanks for sharing the short video - I can see what you mean here.
To clarify how date shortcuts work in Manual Journals, they’re based on the current date rather than any date already entered in the field. If Xero doesn’t recognise the shortcut you’ve entered, it defaults to today’s date.
If you want to enter a date from a previous month, the shortcut to use is “Date in a month”, as shown in our help table. For example, 8/Jun or 6/8 would enter 8 June 2026.
I understand the behaviour you’d prefer, so I’ve slightly amended the title of your idea. This isn’t something we have plans of developing for shortcuts at present but we’ll start tracking interest in this date shortcut behaviour from your post.

Hi everyone, understand the confusion in some of the recent comments here. To explain how this works at present - A report will automatically default to portrait or landscape mode based on the width of the report. The more columns you add, Xero will automatically switch the layout from portrait to landscape mode.
The same report should not change from user to user, if you're finding this it may be worth checking your printer fit settings and if these differ.
We don't have plans for developing an option of whether a report prints in landscape or portrait mode atm, but our teams are across the interest of this, so if there's any change we'll share an update on this with you, here.

Hi team, I’m back again as the ability to accept deposits with Stripe has been released to the majority of regions (UK, US, NZ, AU SG, and CA) with sights set to get this to 100% asap.
Additionally to the feature we first rolled out, we've now added a due date field that allows you to set a specific date you expect payment of the deposit to be received and will be visible when sent to your customer.
Thanks again for your involvement in the idea here and helping us evolve Xero to better suit the needs of our customers.

Without this feature, it makes it much more complex for business to invoice people who want to pay via credit card in installments.
