I used to use Xero-to-Xero to get inter-entity invoices from one entity I deal with to another, related entity. I now _have_ to use e-invoicing. Where Xero-to-Xero was close to instant, e-invoicing takes all night for the invoice to arrive as a bill in the entity being invoiced, and that is waaaaaaay too slow to make the same day bill payment run. I'd like to pay those inter-entity invoices using an .aba file to reduce the possibility of typos; I'm not willing to wait a week until I'm doing the accounts payable for the related entities again.

We like publishing reports to ensure an audit trail is kept - it shows who published it and when, even after a revised BAS is issued - and it makes for easy downloading to our secure server for backup purposes.

One of my clients has an employee with a letter in their preferred bank account for deposits. Xero strips this bank account from any .aba file created, including payroll .aba files, even though it's an actual bank account, the details came direct from the bank in question, and any transfer using those bank account details without the letter in it goes astray.

Hi community, I'm pleased to share with you that the Product team are investigating the first part of this idea - to copy invoice data to a purchase order in new invoicing. There's a few other bits of work lined up before they get to this but we'll be sure to return with an update on progress once there's more news 📰

As for the second function raised here, when you raise an invoice from Projects that includes tasks, time entries or expenses, if you change the project field on new invoicing the connection with Projects will be removed. To correct this, you can either void/delete the invoice and recreate it from the project or manually mark the time entry/task/cost as invoiced.

It takes 16 tabs to get from adding the recipient (so you can add files) to being able to open the dropdown to let you attach the files. Another one to open the dialog box to attach the files. Another nine to get to the list of files, to highlight and press enter to attach (_this_ step is fine, that's Windows standard, and a minimum of input needed to get the results wanted). Then another four to get to click the tickybox to include with online Invoice (capitalisation as per pop-up). Then _28_ tabs to get to Approve & Send.

I keep dragging and dropping the file onto the invoice, and then having to close the tab that opens to view the file. I would like new invoicing to allow drag and drop onto the body of the invoice, just like you can do for bills.

Hey community, just a quick update to let you know the team are currently working on the ability to show the email address that an invoice was sent to, in the History & Notes! We'll pop back to confirm it's been delivered in the next few months 😊

As Kelly mentioned in our last update, viewing the timestamp of history items on an invoice is a separate idea started across here. And, it looks like a separate idea has been raised for the last part of this original idea New invoicing | View contact address. Feel free to add your vote to those ✅ if they're changes you'd like to see.

Interestingly, credit notes still show the email addresses the credit note has been sent to

As a fun addition to this, if you send a copy of the invoice from the list of invoices in the Sales centre, it will show the email address(es) in the invoice history BUT it will chop off the last letter of the last email address in the new invoicing (which is NOT chopped off in the classic invoicing).

It's just sending invoices using invoicing.xero.com that has the problem

    Screenshot attached.

What I need to know, before I follow up this unpaid invoice, is whether it got sent to which of the several different individuals associated with this contract and the several more general department inboxes as well as to the accounts department, and which email to the accounts department got used. It's more than five minutes ago, I don't remember!

In the old invoicing, the email address of people you sent an invoice to via email was listed in the history for that invoice. This allowed me to check when an invoice had not been received whether the issue was an incorrect email address, and fix the problem. It also meant I didn't need to ask if an invoice had been sent to a particular individual's email or to the accounts payable inbox. The new invoicing just says that it was sent by me, and not to whom. This means there's no audit trail of where invoices are going. I would like this feature back, please!
