Hi community, thank you for all the engagement and we can see the growing interest in improvements to help simplify your view of information on the new Homepage and navigate important information and insights with more ease.
Right now, our team have a few pieces of work underway intended to help with some of the pain points that have been raised here these include:
- More options for the sizing of widgets so you can reduce these frames and better position this information on your screen
- More customisation of information within a widget like being able to remove visuals
- Improving the experience of moving widgets when editing the homepage to make it more obvious when dragging and dropping them to different positions on the page
We’ve also roadmapped further changes for later this year, once everyone is on the new experience. I’ll share more updates as we progress.

It appears this feedback is all pointless as you are sending out emails to xero users as attached indicating you are moving to it regardless.
I don't believe 30,000 customers wanted this... most want a reasonable fee for a simple software they can use to operate their business without the clutter and without financial information and reports being visible to anyone walking past - that is I guess if they can decipher what it anything is in the mess.
You state 70% of customers say the Xero homepage makes it easier to stay on top of their business (Disclaimer down bottom *Survey conducted in November 2025, 1191 respondents in survey conducted across Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA and Canada.) Thats not a very big pool considering and could be large business rather than small business.
Maybe try putting a like or dislike poll on every customers xero dashboard to get more accurate feedback because so far looking at all the comments here and with clients or general businesses owners I have not yet met one person who likes it or the cost attached to it.

Yep KISS applies. Customers begrudge spending a small fortune per month on a subscription for something so overly complex looking and overwhelming. This sort of thing could be attractive to some accountants and people really into the data, but majority of our clients are small businesses who want simple accounting software that they can understand.
The layout as it is makes for easy reading and seeing what they want to see. They don't want to waste time removing widgets, adjusting to all these constant changes and having to constantly customise their view - most have no clue how either.
Maybe this sort of thing could be the pro version rather than the default. Some people want the cheap simple version and we have many customers wanting to move away from xero because of all this noise and cost.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the attention this idea has been getting. It's really good to hear how we can continue to improve the Homepage for our differing customers needs. We understand not all the widgets maybe useful to every user, and the 'Customise' button will let you add or remove widgets to reduce what you see on the Homepage.
Taking on board feedback we're looking at the sizing of widgets and you'll find the 'Chart of Accounts' and 'Cash in and out' widgets are now smaller by default with an option to 'Make larger' - You can follow further updates for this on the idea here.
We have plans to dig deeper into possible 'view' options (like the different levels of views being asked here) in the new year and I'll share further updates here when this gets picked up. 🙂

Can you make it a choice of dashboard either the old classic or this? It is way too busy and overwhelming to look at. It is overkill for most and looks like you can do a switch between for now so why not just keep that option to those who refer the better old dashboard. I don't want to switch back for a short time I want to switch back most times as it is a cleaner view.

My business partner and I found this view totally overwhelming and unnecessary. A lot of our small business owners would be overwhelmed and put off by this. I think opening with the basic view with the options of intermediate and advanced where you can select what you want to show would be far better.
Tasks, recent invoice payments, COA seem to be unnecessary noise to most. Less is more.
