Hi everyone, there’s been plenty of great discussion around this idea, and we get how being able to copy bank rules would take a lot of repetition out of setup work.
It’s something we’d like to make happen, but with other priorities in this space right now hasn't been something we can add to the roadmap yet.
It may come to life as part of the ongoing improvements in the Bank Reconciliation area, and we'll defintiely let you know here if there's any progress.

Improve Reconciliation and Match Rule efficiency: show complete Statement Line Reference field.
Currently just the first 2-4 words are shown. Details needed for quick use of Match Rules "OK" button are buried--requires clicking "more details" on each statement line, plus another click or Esc key to hide pop-up details window if "OK" button not used.

SO SO SO important for anyone with contract clients, service agreements etc. Xero, listen, you MUST find a solution for this. I have lost a bunch of money because I have ADHD and I forget to update my clients' recurring invoices. They're all on different renewal dates. I recently have been setting up a convoluted system of service line items with Y1, Y2, Y3 creating a big mess in my system just so that I can select the right year of service item rate based on the year they started. And I have a Google Sheet with formulas that use a starting date I enter to show the year (Y2 etc.) they are in, the deadline for changing the recurring invoice in Xero, with an app script in Google to set up a reminder in the calendar... it's CRAZY and messy and so many places things can fall through the cracks! I would probably pay more at a different invoicing/bookkeeping service and switch from Xero if I found one that would handle this for me. So I urge you to make this recommendation a priority! You will probably attract a lot more customers once they find out you have it... Seriously.

Hi everyone, coming back across this idea we do want to confirm at present for Sales you have Invoice numbers that do need to be unique in Xero. You could ask you customer to reference this as a look up. If you'd like to change this, you can set the Prefix and starting number from within your invoice settings and you'll find you also have options to set this for Quotes and Purchase Orders - More on this here
The 'Reference' field of a transaction is slightly different and does not need to be unique, many businesses use this in slightly different ways and I want to be open that we don't have plans for changing this behaviour anytime soon.
Appreciate there are some that would like to see a numbering sequence for bills and I'd recommend adding support to this idea where this is represented.
Alternatively, in terms…

Hi team, we understand how being able to search reference from the Account Transactions screen would create more efficiencies for those who've supported here.
Being open, this isn't something we have plans for extending the search for at present.
Right now, the best option would be to make use of the search within the Account Transactions report, where you can select the bank account you'd like to search and then can add a filter for Reference.
If this is something you'd find yourself commonly using you could make sure the Account Transactions report is favourited, and could even save a custom report of the Account Transactions report filtered by the bank account to save you a step.
For now, we'll continue to watch the interest in this idea grow and share if there are any updates planned. Thanks

When a new bank account is added, recreating all of the previous bank's rules is extremely tedious.
