Hi team, we'd like to share another update as work for allowing direct wage payments via open banking with Crezco is well underway.
We look forward to updating everyone on this idea as soon as this is released.
As previously mentioned - we want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for extending the payment file export format to CSV, however direct payments will eliminate the need for a manual export saving you a few steps in this process. 🙂

If it helps, after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between Xero and Revolut, I now use Xero's BACS Payment file download but Upload it to Revolut as a 'Faster Payments' option with the date I want the payments to be made - as Revolut say they do not support 3 day BACS. This works and does not have to be done 3 days in advance.
Various people I spoke to at Revolut didn't t know the difference between the 2 methods so it was really trial and error.
We used to upload BACS file OK into Barclays.net with no problem -

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you explaining how important access to reports on draft pay runs is for your workflows, especially for client approvals and pre-submission checks.
Our product team is currently looking into payroll reporting improvements as part of a wider review, however adding additional reports to draft pay runs is not something that’s on their foreseeable roadmap.
Currently you can download payslips, P32 and Payroll Activity Details/Summary reports from draft pay runs. These provide a breakdown of employee earnings and employer liabilities, which can be used for pre-checks before submitting your pay run to HMRC.
Please continue to support other ideas, as this helps our product teams know what's important to you.

Thank you for your engagement and sharing through product ideas, everyone. While we appreciate wanting more flexibility and detail in payroll reports, with payroll development quite separated for each region, and to help our product teams best understand the data that would be most useful for our customers we're going to close this idea and recommend starting ideas for the specific fields that would be helpful in reports and why you'd find this useful.
Taking a closer look at ideas for what's been mentioned in this thread we have a couple of ideas users in this idea may want to vote on;
Welcome to come back and share links for other idea you create that others in this idea may want to support. 🙏

Hi Joanne, thanks so much for all your feedback and comments on this idea. We totally get how handy it’d be to have a report in Xero UK Payroll that includes employee bank details.
Not having something like this can definitely add extra work and hassle—especially when you need to send bank info to a third party or double-check payments.
Right now, the idea’s in the ‘Gaining support’ stage, which means we’re keeping a close eye on how many people are voting and sharing their thoughts. The more input we get, the easier it is for us to understand how important this is and where it might sit in our list of priorities.

this would be very useful indeed, together with net pay for a period so we can upload a .csv file to our bank that does not support the standard BACS/Faster payments File.
Xero payroll reporting is not very good.

I have exactly the same opinion as Janette on this. Why is there a column for AVC but nothing goes into it?

Hi everyone, thank you for your feedback on NI savings in pension calculations. We appreciate you sharing how you’re currently managing these contributions when processing salary sacrifice schemes.
We understand many of you are using spreadsheets and manual workarounds to add these additional employer contributions to the payslip.
Our product team has reviewed this request and moved it to Accepted so that it can be considered in future planning cycles. Although it isn't currently on the immediate roadmap, we'll keep you updated as things progress.

We too want Xero to be able to calculate SMART salary sacrifice, whereby the NI saving from salary sacrifice is also added to the employee pension element. We have a very complicated spreadsheet that calculates this but this means in Xero we have to enter the employee contribution as a fixed amount, rather than just a percentage - and when NI rates change, we have to recalculate and change every employees' contribution manually.
Pension providers give salary sacrifice online calculators online so Xero should be able to replicate the calculations involved
e.g.https://www.legalandgeneral.com/retirement/pensions/workplace-pensions/calculators-and-tools/salary-sacrifice-calculator/

Hi everyone, thanks for all of your valuable feedback on this idea. The number of detailed comments clearly show how important this feature is for many of you.
We also agree that this would add significant value to Xero Expenses. That’s why we’re pleased to update the status of this idea to Accepted. This means we have reviewed your feedback and it aligns with our product vision.
While it is a feature we’d like to build, it’s not currently on our roadmap, so we can't provide a delivery timeframe just yet. We will share another update on this thread as soon as we have more news.

Yes please - should default to the latest HMRC rate (45p) - but also allow Admin to override this if company does not pay full rate (we do and so will 99% of businesses I think)

This is really important - we have been asked by our Auditors for this and the reporting in Payroll is abysmal and may mean we'll have to find a better Payroll provider.
