Hi community, this idea's been created from the original suggestion to help us understand the level of interest and continue assessing the need for attaching files to employee records in Xero Payroll for UK organisations.
While this isn’t currently planned, our product team will continue to monitor the feedback and interest in this capability. If there are any updates to share, we’ll post them here.
All UK-based users who voted on the original idea have been added to this one so they can stay informed.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you explaining how important access to reports on draft pay runs is for your workflows, especially for client approvals and pre-submission checks.
Our product team is currently looking into payroll reporting improvements as part of a wider review, however adding additional reports to draft pay runs is not something that’s on their foreseeable roadmap.
Currently you can download payslips, P32 and Payroll Activity Details/Summary reports from draft pay runs. These provide a breakdown of employee earnings and employer liabilities, which can be used for pre-checks before submitting your pay run to HMRC.
Please continue to support other ideas, as this helps our product teams know what's important to you.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing how important automated holiday pay calculations are for you.
We’re updating the status of this idea to Accepted to show it's formally on our radar.
While we’ve already explored several options to automate holiday pay calculations, for the time being this is not a feature we have planned in our roadmap.
We understand some of you are managing these calculations manually. We’d suggest running the Payroll Activity Summary or Gross to Net report over a 52 week period to assist with these calculations.

Hey team, we’re grateful for all of the engagement this idea has received. We understand that adding start and end times to timesheets would greatly improve payroll accuracy and record-keeping.
As noted by many of you, this feature is available in the AU version of Payroll, but there is no direct workaround for this in UK Payroll.
I'm pleased to let you know we're moving this idea to In discovery, which means our product team is reviewing the viability of this feature. This is an important step as we explore what it would take to bring this functionality to UK Payroll.
We'll keep you updated on any developments.

Thanks for your support and joining in this idea. We get the challenges involved in manually chasing up employees to complete timesheets each pay period.
Although it's not the integrated solution you’re looking for, you could look to set up recurring calendar events or using external communication tools to prompt your team members.
We want to be transparent that we don't have any plans for adjusting the existing notifications for timesheets.
We'll continue to monitor this idea, and should our priorities shift in the future we'll let everyone know here.

Thanks for continuing to follow along and join in the support of this idea, community. To reiterate on our last update we appreciate and understand the need in being able to easily view an employees' leave balances when reviewing leave.
As already spotted from comments here, I'd like to share an update with the release of projected leave balances in Xero Payroll Australia. This feature has just been rolled out to Payroll admins, where you'll be able to view an employees estimated leave balance when adding, editing or approving leave. You'll be able to view a calculation breakdown and will see a warning when a leave request may result in a negative balance. Helping you to better assess and manage leave for your organisation. 😁

Hi team, thank you for showing your support in this idea. While this has been reviewed and looked into at present the work we are developing will not extend to start and end timesheets.
This is something we'll continue to consider closely as the team keep planning their roadmaps and we'll make sure to share if there are updates surrounding this, here.

Thanks for your feedback about setting working days for part-time employees, everyone.
We’re pleased to share that working patterns are now in development, with the first release planned for later this year.
You’ll be able to set a one-week work pattern for each employee, which will automatically be used for leave and public holiday calculations in the pay run. For this first release, you’ll still need to update the employee’s pay template separately to reflect their standard working hours.
We plan to build on this by connecting working patterns with standard hours in the pay run and supporting a broader range of working patterns. We’ll share another update as the release gets closer.

Hi everyone, thank you for your continued support and for sharing how valuable it is to keep employee documents in one place within Xero Payroll.
We’re pleased to share that this feature is now rolling out in Xero Payroll for all AU customers.
We'll be allowing Payroll Admins to upload files directly to an employee profile, securely store them against the relevant employee, and organise them into folders. They’ll also be able to view, rename, move, sort and delete files, with access restricted to Payroll Admins.
Expanding the feature to NZ and the UK isn’t on the roadmap just yet, but it’s something we’ll continue to consider as part of longer-term improvements. We’ve created separate ideas for these regions and added relevant voters from the idea here.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on having timesheet reporting in UK payroll.
Our product team are actively working on improving UK reporting in general, but timesheet reports aren’t currently on the roadmap.
We'll update this to Not in Pipeline, however we'll update you here if anything changes in this space.
