  1. When approving expenses in Xero Expenses, list the 'Assigned to: Project; show up next to the date and category for easy approval instead of having to click into the expense to ensure its been assigned to a project before approving the expense.

    Hi Kim! You might've seen we just released an improved expenses list that entails a few enhancements our customers have been asking for.

    We have more planned for this space including surfacing the ability to view tracking and the customer or project an expense has been assigned to.

    I'll come back to share once the teams start work on this 😊

  2. For permanent employees, all XERO business customers should be able to calculate their future leave balances. This will allow a business owner to know if they can approve the leave or not, or what conversation to have with a team member.

    I hope this idea is backed and implemented.

    Thanks for your strong feedback on logging start and end times in NZ Payroll timesheets. We understand some of you are currently using workarounds or additional softwares to track start and end times.

    I'm pleased to let you know we're moving this idea to In discovery, which means the product team is now reviewing the viability of this feature. This is an important step as we explore what it would take to bring this functionality to NZ Payroll and how it could best serve your needs.

    We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

    Hey team, we’re grateful for all of the engagement this idea has received. We understand that adding start and end times to timesheets would greatly improve payroll accuracy and record-keeping.

    As noted by many of you, this feature is available in the AU version of Payroll, but there is no direct workaround for this in UK Payroll.

    I'm pleased to let you know we're moving this idea to In discovery, which means our product team is reviewing the viability of this feature. This is an important step as we explore what it would take to bring this functionality to UK Payroll.

  5. Currently Xero Expenses creates a single expense claim for each individual item.
    Normal practice for an expense claim is it contains multiple lines (different expenses), such as parking, a restaurant bill and a hotel.

    I would like to have the ability to group individual expense lines into one expense claim.

    I would then have a single bill to pay (an expense claim with multiple lines) appear in my Bills to pay, rather than one for each line.

    Hey community, thanks for your detailed feedback on combining expenses into a single claim.

    We recognise the value in creating a more streamlined process for submitting and approving multiple expenses, especially for events like business travel.

    Our product team are currently reviewing this functionality and are in an initial discovery phase, but it isn’t set in their product roadmap yet. We’ve moved the status to In Discovery to reflect this.

    We’re continuing to monitor feedback on this idea and will keep you updated.

  6. Be able to take more than one photo on the phone app and combine to one receipt, to be used for multiple page receipts or long receipts that do not fit into the one photo

    Hi everyone, thanks for your detailed feedback on combining multiple images to a single receipt.

    We are changing the status of this idea to In Discovery.

    This means our Product team has recognised that combining multiple images for a receipt will be a more streamlined process for expenses, especially for events like business travel and is the initial scoping phase, but haven’t got to the point where it’s on their road map.

    We will continue to track your votes and comments as we progress, and we will update you all once we know more.

  7. It would be great for those Approving Leave, to also be able to View the Leave Calendar that is currently available to Payroll Admin users in the Overview Window. Those approving leave need to know who else is on leave for the requested period, which we currently replicate in our Email Calendars, however it would be great to take this step out, it will reduce time and eliminate errors.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on the needs for leave approvers to view upcoming leave for their team. We appreciate you highlighting how important it is to have better oversight of team leave without needing full payroll access.

    Our product team is looking into how this idea may fit into a wider review of team management in AU payroll. This is in the early stages of review so not currently on the team’s roadmap, but we'll keep you updated as we learn more.

  8. Add a template another file option for payroll. HSBCnet allows file uploads with a SUN however as Xero does not have this template it means only options is to apply for a SUN and increase costs of paying our payroll. We need a file that accommodates ACH CR BACs (non-SUN) files. Requirement is Xero payroll ERP configure the file without a SUN then please ask them to do so, as it should be identical to the one we have tested for supplier payments, meaning the word ‘HSBC’ should be quoted on the VOL1 line and the areas where the SUN…

    Hi everyone, thanks for providing your thoughts on this idea. We appreciate you sharing how important different payment files are as some banks don't accept the file exported from Xero.

    You might have seen from a related idea that our product team is currently testing a new feature to allow direct wage payments from Xero payroll.

    While this is not exactly what you’re suggesting, an integrated payment feature would defeat the need for manual payment file exports. We'll be back to share more updates on this.
