I'd love to see Xero introduce an Auto Payroll feature that works in the same way as Auto Super.

The concept would be that a business signs a direct debit authority allowing payroll payments to be made from their nominated bank account. The business owner could then appoint one or more payroll approvers within Xero, allowing those users to approve and process payroll payments directly from Xero without requiring full access to the client's online banking.

This would have a number of benefits:

* Improved security by removing the need to give bookkeepers and payroll staff internet banking access.
* Reduced administration by eliminating ABA file downloads and uploads.
* Fewer payroll errors, as payments would flow directly from the approved pay run.
* Faster and more streamlined payroll processing for businesses and advisors.
* A complete audit trail showing who approved and processed each payroll payment.

Xero has already demonstrated this concept works well with Auto Super. Extending the same functionality to employee wage payments seems like a natural next step and would significantly improve the payroll workflow, particularly for bookkeepers, BAS agents and accountants who process payroll on behalf of clients.

This would be a valuable feature for businesses of all sizes and would further strengthen Xero as a complete payroll solution.

Agree with Kayla - why is this only possible in the UK and cant we pay wages just like super automatically. We are taking extra unnecessary steps

Why is this function possible for UK users but not AU? And as highlighted by others, if we can pay super directly from Xero, then why not pay our employees?? We are being charged extra for payroll functions that are basic at best.

How has Xero missed this important feature when MYOB offers it as part of a subscription fee? If superannuation can be paid directly into staff accounts, then wages should too. Is Xero falling behind its competitors?

Absolutely need this.
I actually would have chosen MYOB if i had of known that xero currently cannot perform this fuction.
I am trying to ensure that my small business has an easy to manage single point of management so that my wife does not have to try to gather together an overwhelming number of interfaces, usernames, passwords, and knowledge and experience in order to use them!

Please have the software engineers design/develop/add this integration as a matter of urgency.

BTW, in MYOB this inclusion is part of its existing subscription fee...so we should not be paying extra for this!

Automatic wages payment authorised like Automatic super payments, so rather than sending clients aba files or reports and having to process via internet banking.

Make Xero a payroll intermediary so we can upload ABA directly from Xero to our Bank.

You know how super is paid from xero and it automatically leaves the bank account, why do we not have this function for payroll and bills to pay?
Why do I need to upload an ABA or pay from my bank account, is there a way where it does it from Xero. I understand that there are privacy regulations around it but just an idea.

I set up an aba file for batch payments of payroll (Xero Aus), which then can be imported into the bank account (same as I do for bills). See attached, once you have posted the payroll this option is available to you.

You can do this now with Paytron - contact them and they will solve the problem
