Hi everyone, understand the confusion in some of the recent comments here. To explain how this works at present - A report will automatically default to portrait or landscape mode based on the width of the report. The more columns you add, Xero will automatically switch the layout from portrait to landscape mode.
The same report should not change from user to user, if you're finding this it may be worth checking your printer fit settings and if these differ.
We don't have plans for developing an option of whether a report prints in landscape or portrait mode atm, but our teams are across the interest of this, so if there's any change we'll share an update on this with you, here.

We appreciate the feedback and interest in being able to set different levels of approval across different transaction types in Xero atm. Currently the draft permission will enable a user to create draft transactions in an org with out the ability to approve, while the Sales Invoice Only role will enable a user to create and approve invoices or quotes without access to purchases, and similarly the Invoice Only Purchases role will allow a user to create and approve Purchase transactions without access to Sales.
To better understand the ask in this idea can you share exactly the type of set up you would be looking to achieve to help with entering information in your organisation.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the input that you’ve all contributed to this idea, and understand the extra work coding a bank transaction to the wrong account can create.
To be upfront, this idea is currently Not in the pipeline. While we see the value this feature can bring, it's not something the product team is actively working on or planning in the near future.
In the meantime, the current workflow using the Remove & Redo feature allows you to delete the transaction from the incorrect bank account and re-enter it in the correct one.
We know this isn’t ideal, but it’s the most reliable option for now.
We’ll continue to monitor votes on this idea. Your support helps us better understand where improvements are most needed.

We are a small, non-profit performing arts organization.
There is a person in my organization who needs to be able to have read only access to almost anything in our general ledger: to bills, bank accounts, invoices and balances. She can and should be able to generate reports including custom reports. She has that access today and it works well for her.
We sometimes ask sponsors to purchase ads in our program books. We ask patrons to sponsor a particular piece of music in a program or we ask them to sponsor a concert. This same user should be able to create such invoices. She should be able to approve invoices that she creates and send them by e-mail or print them as pdfs. She should not be able to mark them paid or receive and deposit funds.
This is part of our attempt at separation of roles and internal controls. I could give her standard or advisor access but that would reduce my ability to detect inappropriate financial activities.
I hope that helps.
Perhaps you could allow managers to set high level access like you do today but then optionally modify the detailed access restrictions when necessary.
