Hi everyone, thanks for your continued support and feedback on this idea.
As you're aware, we recently rolled out the employee files section in the AU version of Xero Payroll. Our product team is currently working on extending the ability to upload files directly to employee records in NZ organisations.
We’ll keep you updated right here as development progresses and we have further news to share.

572 votesHi community, we appreciate the continued traction this idea's received, and do want to provide clarity and set expectation.
Your feedback has been valuable in understanding the needs of using description only lines to; add subheadings, provide context for grouped charges, and ensure your invoices are easy for your clients to read and understand.
To reconfirm, atm - You can add one-off description only lines as you enter an invoice. However, if you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you'll need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.
- We know some users have set up and saved inventory items for description only lines they commonly use, however as the item code field is used for inventory items the line of the invoice is treated as 'financial' meaning you'll then need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax…

Hey everyone! It's been really insightful reading through your comments on adding a preferred name field to employees. We see how this feature could help with creating a more inclusive environment, while also helping prevent simple administrative mix-ups.
There isn’t a dedicated way to manage this in Xero right now, but your feedback has highlighted the opportunity for one. For this reason, we have updated the idea's status to Accepted, confirming our product team agrees this is a feature we’ll put on our radar to consider developing in the future.

Hi everyone, apologies it's taken some time for us to provide an update, we’d like to let you know where things stand.
While we understand the value of a comprehensive leave report and appreciate your feedback, our current focus is on upcoming New Zealand legislative changes. As a result, enhancements to Leave reports aren’t currently planned, but we’ll continue to consider this feedback as our priorities evolve.
We'll let you know if the position of this idea shifts in the future.

We appreciate you all sharing your feedback on having approved leave days visible during timesheet entry.
Our product team agrees that surfacing this kind of detail on timesheets is a great idea, and it's something we are open to exploring in the future.
While it is not currently on our active development roadmap, we’ll continue to track community interest here as we plan future updates and will keep you posted right here as plans progress!

Hi everyone, thanks for your continued engagement on this idea. We want to be upfront that there is currently no planned work to modify bank account notifications.
The current setup is in place as a critical layer of security. We understand this means all payroll admin are notified of bank account changes, but maintaining robust security remains a top priority.
Although it isn’t on our immediate roadmap, we will keep monitoring your feedback and use cases, and we’ll update this thread if things change.

Hi everyone, we really appreciate the sentiment and engagement on the idea of being able to forecast leave balances.
We know this feature could make planning ahead and managing leave approvals much easier, but at this stage it’s not something we’re planning to develop in the near term, so we’ll be moving it to 'Not in pipeline'.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on how this idea trends in the community and will leave it open for voting. If our plans change, we’ll share an update here.
