   Hi everyone, we have split this idea from the original post so we can get a better sense of interest in being able to view credit and debit totals directly under the columns here.

   For now we are keeping an eye on the support for this here.

   Thanks everyone, we appreciate hearing how the new Manual Journals layout has landed for you, and the challenges you're facing.

   In response to feedback we’ve recently released several changes;

   We've updated the layout, column sizing, spacing and typography so more journal details are visible without horizontal scrolling, including on widescreen monitors.

   The description field now has more room for longer entries and supports scrolling, making it easier to review full descriptions.

   We’re also working on two further improvements that we believe will improve the experience for majority of users:

   • options to show, hide and reorder columns, and
   • a compact view toggle for a higher-density layout.

   These changes will give you more control over the information shown and help make better use of your screen space. I'll keep you updated of these changes here!

   We understand your concerns around the amount of space used and the need to scroll to view all columns, particularly when entering and reviewing journals.

   We recently released a few enhancements to help with feedback we've received including;

   • Improving column sizing, spacing and typography meaning you can see more detail without as much need to scroll.
   • Added more space for the Description field and ability to scroll this field
   • Optimised widescreen displays
   • Increased the amount of time the "Journal posted" confirmation stays visible
   • Ability to open journals in separate tabs
   • Auto-removal of currency symbols when importing to reduce validation errors

   We’ve also started working on a more compact view, which we’re aiming to release soon. 🙂

   We appreciate the detailed feedback and examples you've shared here.
