We've been carefully reviewing your comments and want to acknowledge the clear sentiment of frustration regarding the current limitations around managing multiple addresses for contacts, particularly for invoicing and delivery purposes, and that this is a critical feature to many of you.
We want to share an update on our progress here - We're pleased to confirm that the foundational work for handling multiple addresses has been completed within the Contacts area of Xero. This was a crucial first step. Building on this, now that all customers are on the new invoicing experience our product team has moved into the discovery phase for adding multiple addresses directly within invoicing. This means they are actively exploring the best way to implement this functionality to meet your needs effectively.

Hi community, we appreciate your continued feedback on having different default email addresses for various transaction types in Xero contacts, and the manual steps involved to ensure you're communicating with the right person for different purposes.
Currently, one way of managing this in Xero would be to include every additional person on a contact record in emails, and then removing those that aren't required when sending each transaction. However we totally get this isn't the ideal solution.
While being able to set different email addresses for differing transaction types is something we want to address longer term, like the idea for multiple addresses work for this feature requires cross-collaboration between teams in order to achieve.
Once the multiple addresses feature is live this is something we'll be able to consider more closely and provide further updates on.

We understand why this idea is quickly gaining traction. Being able to start typing in the search bar as soon as the contacts page loads would be a small but meaningful improvement.
Right now, the cursor doesn’t land in the search bar by default, so it’s an extra click each time.
This idea's now in the Gaining Support stage. If it’s something that would make a difference to your workflow, adding your vote or comment helps us understand the wider demand—and gives our product team more to work with when prioritising updates.

We're interested to understand the interest in being able to add multiple emails to a clients record, for the purposes of setting these up for different purposes.
It would be great to hear more detailed feedback from our partners on the particular purposes you'd want to set up emails for and how this would help you through Xero's practice tools. Thanks!

We would be keen to have multiple email addresses against any contact:
For suppliers, we send POs to one email address but payment remittances to a different email address.
For customers, we send invoices to one email address, but statements to a different email address

Adding my support to this idea - having a DD flag against a bill would be incredibly useful to avoid double-payments. Like the idea of bringing through a default value from the supplier record, but would want the option to amend it for a specific bill as we have some suppliers where we mainly pay by DD, but have ad hoc invoices which are not paid by the DD and must be paid manually.
