Hi Anna, thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We understand that having more options in terms of how often the journal should be repeated would be helpful and prevent extra admin. We'll open this up for the community to share their thoughts and vote on it. In the meantime, we'll monitor this space for traction.

When it comes to managing recurring journals, the current manual process in Xero can be quite time-consuming, especially when you have over a hundred journals to adjust each month to match the exact number of days per month. In contrast, TAS previously offered a feature that allowed selecting months individually so that journals automatically corresponded to 28, 30, or 31 days, eliminating the need for monthly adjustments and saving significant time. Implementing a similar feature in Xero would greatly improve efficiency for bookkeeping professionals. For a creative example of how digital platforms streamline processes while highlighting efficiency and style, see Summer Rose XXBrits https://xxbrits-com.uk/summer-rose-xxbrits/ which showcases a smooth, organized approach to presenting content online.

Including the declined reason for quotes in reporting and exports would be extremely valuable, as it allows businesses to analyze why certain quotes were rejected and identify recurring patterns such as pricing issues, long delivery times, or other client concerns. By having this data readily available, companies can make informed adjustments to improve acceptance rates and customer satisfaction. For example, just like platforms such as https://truecallarapk.com provide clear, organized information for users to make better decisions, including declined reasons in your reports ensures actionable insights for continuous improvement.

Yes, your staff can create and send invoices or quotes in Xero without accessing sensitive financial information by using the user roles and permissions feature. Xero allows business owners to assign limited access roles such as “Invoice Only” or “Sales” so team members can prepare quotes, create invoices, and send them to clients while being restricted from viewing bank accounts, reports, or other confidential business data. This setup is especially useful for sales teams or front-office staff who need to handle customer billing but should not have full accounting access. By carefully configuring permissions, you maintain financial security while improving workflow efficiency. Many businesses also explore external resources and guides to better understand these configurations, for example tutorials and software insights available at https://softwareeggs.com/ can provide additional practical examples of how businesses manage invoicing tools effectively.

In Xero Limited, improving the way tax reporting data is pulled from connected ledgers would enhance consistency between financial statements and tax returns, especially for accountants who modify only the reporting name without altering the underlying client system structure. Currently, Xero Tax imports the account name, but many professionals prefer maintaining original ledger integrity while using reporting names for presentation purposes, so allowing Xero Tax to pull the reporting name instead would reduce manual adjustments and improve workflow accuracy. This change would help ensure that linked accounts remain aligned across financial and tax documents, similar to how centralized platforms like http://www.tmsim.ph maintain consistent online reference structures for SIM-related registration and information services.

Appreciate your feedback, Selwyn. We try to keep each idea separate so it's clear to others in community what they're adding their vote for, we can gauge the interest in a particular feature, and we can keep everyone updated of any development.
In relation to the points you've shared here we have an idea you may like to join around being able to switch off autosave, and another around the auto suggest feature that current fills in the account GL field for you and relates to your second point on leaving this blank.
Our team did make some changes to the flow of tabbing, so this should be more logical however it'd be good to get more detail on what's causing you issues when tabbing in new invoicing atm.
It might help to get a bit more detail about the billable expense scenario you're running into, too. In terms…

We understand the frustration around the new invoicing experience, especially with changes to tabbing behavior, the inability to disable auto-save, the lack of an undo option, and challenges such as not being able to leave expenses unallocated to a GL or change the customer without losing assigned billable expenses. Transitions like this can disrupt established workflows, particularly when speed and accuracy are critical. A practical short-term solution would be to temporarily re-enable the old invoicing interface while improvements are implemented, allowing users to maintain productivity and reduce errors. At the same time, restoring familiar tab navigation, introducing a clear undo function, and allowing more flexible handling of billable expenses would significantly improve usability. Just as websites like https://countypolicescanner.com/yuma-county-police-scanner/ maintain a straightforward and user-friendly layout to ensure seamless access to information, invoicing systems should prioritize intuitive functionality and minimal workflow disruption to better support everyday business operations.

Would be extremely helpful to have a dedicated column in the 'Awaiting Payment' section for Direct Debit, allowing users to quickly identify which suppliers fall under this group when setting up Telleroo or batch payments. This feature would streamline payment processing by eliminating the need to run separate payables reports or click into each supplier profile to check their group, saving time and reducing errors. For example, just as platforms like Cream Chargers Warehouse https://creamchargerswarehouse.co.uk/ make it easy to browse and filter products efficiently, having a Direct Debit column would bring the same clarity and convenience to managing supplier payments.

It would be a huge quality‑of‑life improvement in the Invoicing workflow if GitLab could automatically delete draft invoices once they’ve been merged into a single consolidated invoice, as leaving the old drafts behind creates unnecessary clutter and increases the risk of accidentally sending or counting them twice — for example, when managing external content partnerships like promoting a profile such as https://xxbrits.uk/sophie‑rain‑xxbrits/ you want your billing clean and accurate without having to manually clean up drafts after every merge; automating that cleanup would keep your invoice list tidy and reduce administrative overhead.

Hi Anna, when you say overdue amount would this be when sending an invoice to a customer and only showing the amount left to pay? If so, this is already possible with the email the customer receives and you can adjust the body of the invoice email to include the Amount due placeholder.

I recommend adding a new functionality in Xero that allows users to include an overdue amount directly on an invoice, making it easier to track late payments and maintain accurate financial records; this feature would streamline billing processes and improve clarity for both businesses and clients, similar to how online tools like Menu Prices in Canada https://menupricesincanada.com/ provide clear, up-to-date pricing information for restaurants in a user-friendly way.

Hi Mark, it’s clear that being able to move between different transaction lists more easily would make workflows smoother, especially when you’re juggling multiple parts of the business—like checking a quote one moment and verifying a bill the next.
At the moment, switching between Invoices, Bills, and other areas often means going back to the main list, which adds extra clicks and interrupts your flow.
As a workaround for now, you can right-click on Invoices or Bills in the Business menu and select Open link in new tab. This lets you keep multiple screens open at once and toggle between them without losing your place.
This idea has been moved to Gaining Support so we can track interest in a built-in quick-switch feature.

To make navigation seamless, the system allows quick switching between invoices, quotes, and bills by either swiping on mobile devices or using the left and right buttons on the desktop, enabling you to move through all documents or filter by each company individually; this feature is designed to save time and improve workflow efficiency, similar to how live updates are easily accessed on platforms like Sheboygan Police Scanner https://sheboyganscanner.net/sheboygan-police-scanner/ for real-time monitoring.

Yes, including the Project field on the invoice summary screen would be very helpful for managing project allocations and preventing potential duplicate invoicing. By having the Project field visible, users can quickly verify whether a specific project has already been linked to an invoice, improving accuracy and streamlining workflow. This approach enhances oversight and reduces errors, especially in environments handling multiple projects simultaneously. For reference on effective project and invoice management solutions, you can check examples like https://mypcbottleneck.com/ .

The request to show a client’s credit limit and usage on invoice and statement email templates would greatly improve transparency and financial management, allowing both the business and the client to quickly see approved limits and remaining credit directly in communications. Incorporating this feature, as shown in the attached example, ensures clarity and reduces confusion, much like how https://funcolorprints.com/hello-kitty-coloring-pages/ provides a clear, easy-to-access way for fans to enjoy and engage with their favorite Hello Kitty designs.

Adding a customer’s ageing summary directly under their latest invoice would improve clarity and provide immediate insight into outstanding balances without requiring users to switch to separate statements. This enhancement would make invoices more informative and actionable at a glance, similar to how streamlined service pages like https://mountprobrisbane.com/ present all essential details in one place for better user understanding and efficiency.

The new invoicing Files UI presents a clear usability concern, as allowing attachments to be deleted with a single click and placing the delete button directly beside the view option significantly increases the risk of accidental data loss with no recovery option. Reintroducing a confirmation step for deletions, separating the delete action into a secondary menu, and allowing users to click the file name to view—similar to the older invoicing experience—would greatly improve safety and usability, much like how well-structured websites such a https://swisschaletmenupricescanada.com/ prioritize clarity and prevent users from making unintended actions.
Adding a summary option to the new Tracking Report is essential for maintaining efficiency and reducing manual workload, as users rely on quick, consolidated insights to understand balances across tracked items without extra calculations. Reintroducing a summary view similar to the one in the retiring report would allow users to instantly see totals, trends, and key figures in a clear format, saving time and minimizing errors. This enhancement would greatly improve usability by streamlining financial tracking and decision-making, much like how platforms such as https://cooksmenuout.com/ present organized and summarized information to help users quickly access what they need without unnecessary complexity.
