Repeating Manual Journals - Provide more frequency options
Once upon a time when we used TAS for our bookkeeping services, they had a very useful feature when processing recurring journals. We could choose separately months to correspond to the days clients being charged for. For example, we would pick January, March, May, July, August, October, December to process invoices for 31 days; February for 28 days; and April, June, September, November for 30 days. Once you have that set up initially, you don't have to think about adjusting recurring journals every month. At the moment, it takes me about half a day just to update over a hundred of recurring journals manually to correspond to the days in the particular month. Not an efficient way of spending my time at work. I trust this is something Xero would consider creating at some point.
Hi Anna, thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We understand that having more options in terms of how often the journal should be repeated would be helpful and prevent extra admin. We'll open this up for the community to share their thoughts and vote on it. In the meantime, we'll monitor this space for traction.

When it comes to managing recurring journals, the current manual process in Xero can be quite time-consuming, especially when you have over a hundred journals to adjust each month to match the exact number of days per month. In contrast, TAS previously offered a feature that allowed selecting months individually so that journals automatically corresponded to 28, 30, or 31 days, eliminating the need for monthly adjustments and saving significant time. Implementing a similar feature in Xero would greatly improve efficiency for bookkeeping professionals.
