Sales invoice | History - Show I.P. Address with date & time viewed
When a client opens an invoice or quote Xero shows the IP address of whom ever opened it and the time it was opened. This is especially helpful when multiple people have access to the invoices. It also shows that the client did in fact see the invoice especially when they claim they haven't. Handy tool for chasing payment

Bill - Option to "Add another bill from same company"
After adding a bill to pay, there is an option to add another bill. I suggest another option, "Add another bill from this vendor". I often process more than one bill from the same company.

Invoice - Show and calculate margins on sales quotes and invoices
Calculating both quotes & invoices, and showing a margin based on unit cost and price, and also setting a price based on a required margin.
Purpose: save time when checking and calculate the costs.

Invoices - Enter cents for an amount without inputting decimal point
It would be good if you did not have to enter the decimal place when entering dollar amounts. Just saves 1 extra key stroke but that adds up to a lot of keystrokes

We don't have any plans for this at present but will track the appetite here.
Atm, when entering Expenses or Bills you may find some of the automation through Hubdoc, emailing bills to your org and the ability to enable receipt analysis within Xero expenses help reduce the need to enter these amounts yourself, too.

Inventory - Show inventory movement without needing a quantity (drop shipping)
Can a way be setup to do Invoicing for Drop-Ship items where we do not need to add inventory, but it is automatically calculated when invoiced to Track how many drop-shipments are being sent in a month and track the difference between the vendor price and customer price. Having to manually add to inventory is a lot of work.

Batch Payment - SSV file type option
I need Xero to have more payment file formats to upload bill payments into the bank. It is such a useful function, but it becomes too much manual intervention to add columns every time you export the file to match your specific bank's needs.
It will be great to be able to upload a template that can pull the needed info, similar to a Sales invoice templates.

Please can we have the option to drill down a project summary/project financial report to only include submitted/paid invoices and to be able to have the option to exclude draft invoices

Customer statements - Change how Credits and Overpayments are reflected
Please look at amending the template for customer statements. Its terribly presented at the moment with overpayments being recognised under the invoiced amount section as a negative and balances not cumulating at the end
5 votesHi Neilin, I know you've mentioned customising the template, however from the sounds you'd like to change the behaviour of how items within a customer statement is represented?
If so it'd be good to understand more of the reason of why you're wanting to show overpayments as a positive?
If a customer has paid more than expected amount this amount is then a credit on their record and in turn draws down the total amount owed.
Alternatively you may want to be looking at recording as a prepayment?

Xero Expenses - Default to today's date for receipts if date is missing
If Xero Expenses' OCR reader doesn't find a date in a photo/receipt, it sets it as 19 Feb 2022 (from reviewing a number of Expenses in my organisation submitted in December 2022 that don't have visible dates).
It would be more helpful to set the date as the day the Expense was initially created.
The submitter is likely to have incurred the Expense on the day they take a photo of the receipt.As it currently is, if a period isn't locked and the Approver isn't checking dates, they may inadvertently post entries to the wrong period, even a historical/filed…

Quote - Add a tick box when converting from quote to invoice to keep quote date
To add a tick box when converting from quote to invoice to keep quote date and not for it to default to today's date. Similar to the option to mark as invoiced or not. It would be great if the date does not default today's date if it is revised but stay on the original quote date. Once the quote is accepted and it is converted to an invoice, we please need the ability for the quote to stay on the original quote date and not to default to today's date.

Invoices/Bills - Ability to enter total amount first before entering the item lines
When entering a bill or invoice, you enter the total at the top then add statement lines, would be great if it showed remaining amount to be charged/ reconciled to reach the desired total. This would cut down admin time when reconciling bills after entering gst amount could show the total remaining as the non gst amount so you do not need to calculate the remaining amount.

Projects - view time entries by task
It would be useful to see a breakdown of the time assigned to each task within a project, rather than just a list of the time entries in date order. Seeing the overall time on the task page is useful, but being able to delve into that would be more useful.

Invoice - Ability to search invoices using account number
When using the search fund for INVOICES current options are: Enter Number, Reference, Contact or Amount. It would be nice to also be able to search by the account number issued to your clients.

Projects | Time Entries: Ability to sort by time started

Currently only one view, in order of entry.
We enter start and end times for tasks.
Would prefer to have the ability to sort the time entries page by time started. That way a user can more readily identify parts of their day not yet entered.5 votes -
Invoice Payment - Automatically asking customer to register Auto pay
I will like an option that will force customer to register to Auto Pay.
All our customers agreed to use Auto Pay and most of them "forgets" or "don't see" the Auto Pay checkbox option. So, what happens, they pay thinking they have subscribed to Auto Pay.
This option will make our billing management so much easier.
A quick fix to that issue could be the following:
When they select the button "Set up auto pay", then the Auto Pay checkbox should at least be already selected.8 votes -
Bills - Allow the ability to enter .01 instead of having to enter 0.01 in Total field
Fix the Bill Total field to allow regular number input ability.
Specifically, allow the ability to enter .01 instead of having to enter 0.01 which is very unnatural. So, disable/remove the logic that requires the Bill Total entered to start with a number.
Use Case
- We get numerous invoices with a $0.01 total where the product may be an allocation or new line incentive. I constantly get a Bill Total mismatch because I enter the Bill Total as .01 which results in $1.00 bill total instead of the expected $0.01 bill total.
