  1. With the old invoice format—when you edit the invoice issue date, the due date doesn't change. When you edit the issue date with the NEW invoice format, the due date automatically changes. Not sure about others, but I don't want it to do that. I'll often issue an invoice in the first couple of days of the month but then immediately backdate it to the end of the previous month. I don't want the customer's due date to change. I change the due date back, manually, but again—it's more clicks.

    Thanks for the feedback on the behaviour of the dues date, community. Our product team have implemented a change to this as of today, so now if you update the issue date after you've set a specific due date, it will not automatically update the due date when you make issue date changes.

    We appreciate our customers have different expectations of the behaviour between issue and due dates in new invoicing - Along with other changes we're developing for the due date picker, we'll soon release the option to 'Reset to default due date' which will let you intentionally update the due date based on your invoice's contact's default due date (if set) or your organisations default due date, just by clicking this option.

  2. When looking at Bills to Pay that are in Draft, we review the bill and approve. We then end up on the approved/awaiting payment bill screen. To get back to the next Draft bill to pay, we need to select "Bills to Pay" from the breadcrumb nav, then select back onto the Draft tab and finaly select the next bill.

    It would be good to have an option of "Approve" where we can directly go to the next draft bill to manage.

    Hey everyone, thanks for this suggestion.

    Now when you're reviewing a Draft bill, you can click the drop-down next to Approve, and select 'Approve & view next', to take you to the next bill instead of returning to the list. Screenshot attached for reference. Enjoy! 😊

We use a lot of tracking options on our bills and invoices, sometimes we need to refer back to a particular bill in that tracking option for VAT treatment as an example, but the only way I have found to do that aside from opening each bill individually through the list to find the right category, is to run a tracking summary report, select the particular one and check the expenses - it would be much simpler to be able to see the tracking category alongside the bills to pay screen so you can easily open a bill for the…

    Hi team, while not shown directly on each row of the bills list, our new quick view for bills should resolve the needs here. 😊

    By clicking on the eye icon from the list you'll see your bill shown on the right side of the screen and can use the arrows to quickly move through each bill and view the contents including any tracking that you've assigned within your bill.

    Get in to try and we're keen to hear your feedback on using quick view in bills!

  4. It would be useful to have a cc and bcc field when sending invoices so that either the business owner or another individual could receive a copy of the invoice when it is sent. This functionality is available in QuickBooks.

  5. The new invoicing/quotes is a terrible downgrade for the price fields. It is incredibly strict with regard to numbers that can be pasted. Generally for prices, we are copy and pasting from a spreadsheet or another database. These will commonly have a comma for thousands and a dollar sign. The new quotes/invoices requires these to be stripped out and numbers entered strictly like this > 1111.00. It's a major annoyance and time waster.

    Hi everyone, thanks for contributing and feeding back on this idea. We appreciate the needs in being able to quickly enter data into your invoices and are continuing to build on new invoicing experience.

    With a recent update we've released what you're asking here, and you can now copy and paste numbers that include commas (,), and currency symbols such as $ or £.

  6. Please allow us to collect ACH direct debit payments through Stripe, and not force us to use a 3rd solution (GoCardless) for that.

    Stripe offers direct debit ACH when sending invoices directly from Stripe. There is no reason it shouldn't be available through Xero.

    Hi everyone, over the past year we've made a lot of updates to offer more ways for your customers to pay invoices with you. As you may have seen, we've released ACH debit for US organizations, a new payment method by Stripe.

    This payment method allows you to accept direct bank payments on invoices, without costly card fees. Your customer can quickly authorize a one-time payment to be withdrawn from their bank account for the total invoice amount - all without leaving the invoice.

    We appreciate users from regions outside US that have voted here, however with ACH being a US specific payment method we don't have any plans for extending this payment method more broadly. 

  7. I want to start using the W9 Management tool going forward. I have a number of Suppliers that I received the paper pdf of the W9 and I have populated the 1099 info manually and attached the W9pdf to files. However, in order to use the new tool effectively, for those that I already have the details for, I would like to manually amend the W9-Status to received, so only new suppliers are highlighted as not received and I can send the link out for completion.     Hi community, our product team have been doing some work in this space and we're pleased to share that as of today you can now manually mark a W-9 as being received from the W-9 Management page 🎉

    This helps you edit the status where you have received W-9 forms through another source, such as PDF.

  8. When building custom reports, currently there is no way to add a Date column that updates to match the date range specified when viewing the report.

    This is available on all pre-defined reports, but can not be added as part of a custom report.

    There are many cases where it is desirable to build a report template that can be run for different, user-specified, date ranges, without having to edit the report each time.

The changes made to the new bills view is inefficient when when viewing a column, if it is a credit note or had a credit note applied to it the icon creates an indent thus making it harder to follow with the eye. In addition the previous easy to locate yellow icon that did not create an indent has been replaced with a blue icon that blends with other Xero Coloring.

    Hi Fiona, appreciate not way you'd envisaged here, however there has been an update that will help you easily locate your Credit Notes when in Bills. 

    You'll find under the Filter option you now have the ability to filter by Credit Note, Overpayment and or Prepayments which helps quickly narrow down your view to just these documents types. 

  11. Add an option when uploading receipts to scan in the receipt. This can then take all relevant information from he receipt and give you the option to match this expenses with similar information or to create a new spend money transaction.

    Much quicker and simpler than manually adding this information every time you buy from a new supplier, and will be quicker to match to transactions.

  12. INVOICING - in the field 'Unit Price', it would be great to be able to have this default to the hourly rate we charge (and to override if necessary). We send our invoices to our clients at the end of each month, and therefore there are several entries for the daily activities charged throughout the month, hence having to input the hourly rate several times for each invoice.

    Good news team, quick view is out and this is now available to everyone. As you'll see from the bills list view there is now an eye icon that shows a right side preview of your bill when clicked. To simply move from one bill to the next use the arrows above your bill view. This makes it even simpler to take bulk action on multiple bills at once without having to open and review each individually.

  14. The ability to search bills and filter specifically for a credit notes would be helpful.
    Also, if a credit note has been used the total is $0 - it would be helpful if the total was still shown as paid.

  15. Expenses - Clone or Copy an Existing Expense

    My team have asked if we can make a 'copy to new Expense feature' from an existing Expense. Most of the expenses they enter are similar and just have a different amount and different receipt image. It would save them a lot of time if they could clone an existing Expense. Thank you.

    Hi team, it's possible to Duplicate an expense receipt within Xero Me mobile app. 😊

    Your employee can open a Submitted or Approved receipt, select options and they'll see the ability to 'Duplicate'. Alternatively, for a complete Claim simply opening the receipt and scrolling down they should see the option to Duplicate.

    In the draft receipt they'll be able to change whatever details necessary before submitting for approval.

  16. Ability to show a variance column as a dollar value on a balance sheet report to show changes over the year and make it easier when inputting this data into another system for preparation of financial reports.

    Hi team, a while on since this idea was initially raised we have made more improvements to the bills list view. You'll find you can now choose which columns are shown in the table, as well as choose where in the table these sit. 

  18. Need to be able to void/delete invoices on mobile app. (Not have to do it via xero on computer)
    VERY frustrating for clients who invoice daily from their phone and need to void or delete an invoice.

    Hey community, thanks for all your support on this idea.

    Tax adjustment functionality varies by region, as this idea was raised relating to adjusting VAT in the UK I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!

    To adjust the tax amount for a line item when creating a bill:

    1. Select the Tax exclusive option in the Amounts are field
    2. Click the + symbol next to the Tax Rate heading to show the Tax amount field.
    3. Edit the amount shown in the Tax Amount box.

    Our Adjust the VAT amount on unpaid transactions support article provides further information on this process.

    We have ideas for this similar option in the AU version here, and another for NZ here that you can follow for updates. For other regions, you’re welcome to create a new idea so we can gauge user need for this.
