Reporting - Sales by item customer
In Sales by item report we need a column of Customer as well, since it's not available so we are not able to get the details which customer ordered which product.

Hi team, coming back to this idea, while not in the Sales by Item report, you can run the Inventory Item Detail report. You'll find you can add a Contact column and Group by Item name to get the view you're after here.

Vital report to track which products are most successful with which customers.

This report would be invaluable for tracking what products customer's are and are not purchasing creating opportunities to target customers with specific and relevant products to increase sales.

Is there any update on this happening? It seems like it should be an obvous report to be able to run? How much of a given item a customer has bought?

Create a function that reports on Sales Customer Detail. The report would show the customer and each product/item they have purchased in the period you nominate. There would be a heading with the customer's name columns consisting of: 1. invoice number, 2. date, 3. quantity, 4. item, 5. description, 6. cost. This allows sales personnel to track customer's current supplies and what they have purchased in the past and how much they paid. There would be a total at the end of the report for the period you nominated.

Having the sales by item report able to be sorted by customer would be greatly helpful. Being able to run this in a single report for all customers

Yeah I would like a sales by customer, showing items purchased and to be able to run it by period.

I think you can get this from the report : Receivable Invoice Detail then grouping by customer to get what products each customer bought over a set time, exporting to excel would then allow you to sort that data further
